Can a Christian be a barbarian? Just asking. Anyway, welcome to our tribe, brother.

Bay Area Barbarians was founded for local (San Francisco Bay Area), active, like-minded barbarian "enthusiasts". Our current project is making fan films.

I don't move in SCA circles much anymore. What's the barbarian situation like in Atenveldt?

There's a trend for new historical groups that focus on specific eras, and with greater authenticity, or focus on historically documented fighting techniques. These are alternatives to the hodge-podge that is the current middle ages. So why not focus on particular fantasy worlds? There are groups that celebrate Tolkien's Middle Earth in this manner, so why not REH's Hyboria?

I an a Celtic friar that has settled on land granted to me the Honorable Chief. He is still amused over the years that I can believe is only one god when I could have a choice of many to help guide me through life. The Honorable Chief and the warlord of the Barbarian Freehold Alliance provide protection for the priory in exchange for a tithing a mead and wine from the brewery and the written knowledge that I possess for them to negotiate for wars and conflicts.

In Atenveldt, Odin's hold is the local hold for the Barbarian Freehold Alliance. Tucson had a hold that is inactive because its chieftain moved to England who is in the army and is presently serving in Iraq.

Yes, my chieftain finds the Christians very amusing jesters. Their screams of pain in their last brief throes of life give great honor to the gods and delight the women and children.

Anyway, welcome. I would be interested in knowing more about the Barbarian Freehold Alliance. Are they active in Northern California, or are they all out on foreign raiding parties?

Barbarian Freehold Alliance has Clan Blood whose chieftan is located in Yreka, Ca. He has about 40 members in his hold there and has been having issues with the local shire who doesn't think that he is politically.

It has been decreed by the Warlord that I search the ancient scrolls and locate those of like mind that fight for honor, glory and coin to join our band of mauraders for Estrella War XXIV. We will be fighting under a Letter of Marque and Reprisal that gives us alot of benefits.

If you are interested, then send a messenger and we will furthur discuss this matter.
