So I performed over the weekend with my fans and right when I snap them open a stave snapped on my right fan (the outter most stave). Shoot, the show went on and no one noticed but has anyone else broke a stave like that? If so how do you fix it up? Ive got some ideas but if someone has experience Id love to know!! by the way, they are plastic.

First....good for you for going on! I've had it happen before, it's rare, and it's never fun. But hey, that means you're really workin' those fans! Go Azra! ;-) Usually, I just cut my losses and get a new fan. If I really like the fabric on the fan and I can't replace the exact fan, I'll try to take it off and put it on the new set of staves. If you want to try to repair it, you can a) replace the stave (I have a lot of misfit fans around for just such an occasion) or b) *try* to melt it back together and reshape it. This can be problematic because the stave never quite looks the same and is way more likely to get air bubbles or other types of weaknesses and is more likely to break or warp. If you have any other ideas, I'd love to hear 'em! The most common problem is the center pin warping or breaking---that, I have down to an art! ;-) Good luck!
