at this point for some we have hit almost hit the 90 day mark...

How do you feel?

Has anything in your regular routine changed?

Will you do this again someday?

Do you notice a difference?

Well, I've been posting less...not for lack of interest, but several new projects coming forth, a couple of which absorbed all time I desired to look at a computer screen. I feel much more articulate as to where I am in this dance journey and can begin at my beginnings, as well as greater clarity as to what is important to/connects most deeply with me. I feel a connection to my future dancer self. The transition into dance practice has changed significantly in my regular routine; before I doubted myself as dance student and was not aware to what extent, whereas now I trust that my forming my questions to frame my active practice connects me to my future dancer self and not to my past cheerleader. I am not aware of where to find the stopping point, nor that I would want to be. I may be close to completing ninety days, but not tending to what grows from there. How another ninety day period may compare to this one tickles me.

i've been a horrid poster but now i'm a pretty good zill player : ) I've been practicing every day for 20 min to over an hour at least...and i'm finally getting my 3/4 folkloric shimmey and 3/4 arabic shimmey to look less spastic. I feel a stronger sense of structure with my home pratice...especially with the zilling because every bit helps and over time makes a difference. I just printed out another sheet today so i can get going again : )

    90 days !

yah I have not been the faithful poster and fell off the wagon twice but I have done the pennence and added 1 extra day for each fall...

This grounded me a little more.. I have the tendancy to be very MOVEY, here a second there a second... I danced to Jalilah's Raks Sharki Tamra Henna and I felt like i controlled it [at least most of the time]
    Daily focus helped channel that.

I will [am] continuing daily "better belly dacing" but won't feel so guilty about a missed or rushed day

It did and still does make me feel more motivated and more goal-oriented in practice..

I created an excel sheet (geeky I know) to monitor my practice per day/week/month and it helps me keep focus, so my practice sessions are now less 'random'..

I do plan to keep up with the program, I already extended my excel sheet to 120 days ;-) And even though I had a big lapse of 2,5 weeks (vacation) this February I managed to keep an average of 2 hours a day (including teaching and cross training) My goal is to get to an average of 3 hours a day in the next 90 days.

I've already noticed a difference in my performances.. my hands and arms are finally feeling more controlled and the movements seem to have more 'flow'. Next thing to work on: Feet! For poses, turns and still those darn traveling steps..

      Weak

seriously I may think Im strong just because I can out dance my studetns but...
      in reality...

...and self frustration, as soon as other things showed up in my life my dance took a back seat
even as soon as regular classes started up for me, I felt like at times I just did enough for that

      BUT it has helped
I have a desire to learn again, I have a desire to perform again, it really really helped me get my mojo back
and it helped me get off the computer (thus not so many posts) and do what needs to be done--like dance
it has definately help me refocus on some health and fitness goals

now to do it again, and really see if I can do some self improving and spot find those things that I can focus on in work shops and private lessons
