even weight trainers don't lift every day
whats the best thing to do when your muscles are sore and you need a break, but you dont want to fall off the wagon?
switching to another type of dance video is NOT the solution because thats using the muscles you need to let rest
any ideas?
I was thinking just walking on those days.....

Re: what to do when your muscles need a break?
Tue, January 6, 2009 - 7:29 AMAbsolutely listen to your body. If it is asking for a time out & rest, then rest. We all want to participate in this fabulous concept, but it still has to be fun. Walking, jogging, hiking, cleaning the house while listening to your favorite music, watching a rocking video, air zills, playing your favorite music in your head or in the car or dreaming about it during a nap.
We are dancers and the health our body is incredibly important. If it's asking for a gentle day, then a gentle day it is. -

Tue, January 6, 2009 - 8:18 AMI agree, if your body needs some rest then rest it is.. besides that, watching videoclips, listening to music, thinking up combinations or going through old workshop notes are dance activities as well no? -

Re: what to do when your muscles need a break?
Tue, January 6, 2009 - 2:50 PMTo add to the already great input, please remember, walking is great exercise and learning experience. I walk to rhythms as well as play with where I am walking from within my body. I also like Feldenkrais tutorials because they are very gentle and very aligning.
