Worked on my undulations and reverse undulations for about 25 mins. Then worked on a choreography, specifically the steps. Finished by dancing 15 mins to music. Noticed I could hear the top layer rather than the percussion line. Made a difference in how I danced.

Re: 1/21/09
Thu, January 22, 2009 - 7:05 PMGonna cover the 15th to today, because I've been discovering variations on my themes of treadmill, alphabets, and choreography/drilling in a more defined context. I have had a lot of back and forth of between where my practice seeps into whatever movement I am doing (think Sahra Saeeda's arm paths while emptying the dishwasher) and a set hour of practice. The former, I had difficulty feeling the practice part of it, the ticking off one hour a day part of it, but my practice kept telling me that this was so, that this was another layer of bringing the movement within and playing with how the movement flows out, that deliciousness of discovery and play, the subtle smirk and out loud giggles, and that toddler dancing glee; none of these were distractions nor lies. The bubbling up of my practice marks the changes my interactions (certainly with the dishwasher, to say the very least. Word of warning, take your zills off first.).
