"State of the Art" Professional Oriental Dance

Hadia shares with you 38 years of experience and knowledge in this 38 hour course.
Each dancer must submit a video or DVD of one of their recent and favourite performances (Orientale or Baladi ONLY). This will be critiqued and modified, augmented and elaborated upon throughout the course and then [will be] performed in the closing show July 20. The closing performance will be recorded and made available to each student to serve as ‘before and after the course’ documentation.
Live musicians and singer will assist with some of the classes to develop musical interpretation skills, improvisational skills and interaction with orchestra.
Recommended that registrants purchase and study Hadia’s Ultimate Belly Dance System - 4 DVD set prior to beginning the course.
Outline: Technique refinement and corrections ; Alignment, carriage, presentation and presence ; Choreography; Rhythmical recognition and interpretation ; Improvisational Skills; Understanding and interpreting your music; Communication with the audience; Professionalism; Making an appearance; Business Tips for Success.
This Pro Course includes "Making the Most of your Music" Exploration of Oriental Instruments, Rhythms and Song" Saturday and Sunday July 19 & 20 Workshop.
Successful participants for the Professional Course will be chosen from their Audition video or DVD (Orientale or Baladi ONLY) which must be submitted by JUNE 1 , 2008 accompanied by your $200 deposit (refunded if not accepted into the program). A maximum of 20 students will be accepted into the Professional Course.
Place: Studio Metronome, 3rd floor, 4557 St Laurent Blvd (at Mont Royal), Montreal
Cost: Deposit of $200 must accompany your video or DVD audition submission (Orientale or Baladi ONLY) before JUNE 1, 2008 plus $325 CAN if fully paid by July 1 (for a total course fee of $525) or $395 CAN if paid after July 1 (for a total course fee of $595)
PLEASE NOTE: ULTIMATE TECHNIQUE TRAINING AND "Making the Most of your Music" WORKSHOPS ARE OPEN TO ALL DANCERS. INTERMEDIATE AND HIGHER DO NOT REQUIRE A DVD/VIDEO AUDITION.
