I can't find the youtube clip of the music video right now, though I'd like to. Any leads on a translation for this? Want to take a shot at it?

I asked the youtube user ethnikation who used to have a video up with a translation. She said she wasn't good with the dialect so she took it down, so as not to have a not quite accurate translation up, but she was nice enough to send me what she had. Here it is:

It's cream, oh father. It's cream, oh mother.
They are all like that and I’m like that.

I can betray my grandmother, even my neighbours daughters.

The one who raises his voice wants to kill.

(Egyptian areas in Cairo) Boolagh, Embabeh, Katkat, Shoubra and Helwan and El Daghi.
If we're lovers and good friends then feed me sweets.

    It’s cream oh father.
    What else?

Thank God for this life and if you're upset, finish it.

If you're like that in the bedroom, you won’t sleep well.

America sent us dollars and told you to get drunk.
They want us to buy drugs and focus on the bellydancers.

Who was nasty and who hurts me is lost.

The man should be good with his words not with his hands.

The man should never take what's not his

I don't think "eshta" means "cream" in this context. I think it means "It's cool."

Also, the "ya aamy" isn't "mother" here. It probably has more to do with "3am", which, outside of its familial meaning of "paternal uncle", would mean something like "man". I wonder if "dude" works, too...

I remember hearing the general idea of the song being something like doing good things for your mother, so she will do good things for you (like pray, etc.). Maybe that's in another verse or something, or I'm just wrong. Yucy or Adel will whip me back into shape ;)

You should have danced to it on Mother's Day!

Shems. Thank you for your kind compliments and for the transliterations and all your work on this project.
    Kamillia, you are 100% correct!

Eshta= the thin creamy slice on top of the white cheese which is home made from scratch most often from goat milk. it is very creamy and delicious and usually served for breakfast. In the case of this song, it is most likely a code word for drugs and or the good life.
yaba= ya aba= hey dad = hey buddy or hey dude.
ya aamy = hey paternal uncle = hey buddy, or hey dude

In the context of the song, the singer could literally be addressing his father and uncle or simply his buddies.

    ESHTA YABA ESHTA
    cream cheese? dad cream cheese
e: want some good stuff buddy? some good stuff?

    ESHTA YA AMY ESHTA
e how about you my other buddy, want some good stuff?

    KOLLO KEDA AH WANA KEDA
that's the way it all is oh and I am like that.
(like the good stuff implied by eshta)

ANA MOMKEN ABEE3 GETTETY WALA WALA
I am able to sell [out} my grandma, boy oh boy
e: I'd even betray my own grandma so watch out!

    WALA EIH WALA EIH/

e: whata you say? are you with me?

    LAW....... ENTA........ KED FEL.... ..ODA

this is awesome - what a dark song! I knew it was ghetto, but I didn't realize how ghetto! Thanks Adel, you are the best!

you're welcome. didnt mean to give you a bad impression. I actually liked the song. I wouldnt necessarily decribe it as dark but can see how it can be interpereted that way.
dont let the expressions give a bad taste. American expressions like "up the creek..." are not necessarily dark either.

By the way, if you ever have access to eshta, I recommend that you try it.

Duuuuuude! When Osama Abdelghani sang an exclusive English version of "Hantour" for my group in Egypt, he started the mawal with "ya man". "Ya dude" might have meant a lot of things, I imagine...anyway:

The Cairene Street Urchin Institute of Translation holds that "3aly el 6asa/Tasa" means something like "raise the frying pan" which means something like "get high", because of a connection between "frying pan" and "head". I know, this song is really deep in its symbolism and what not.

"Bartita" is a group of friends (like "shilla").

"Tita" in "ana nefsy nelim el tita" probably means "money". It appears to be a very multi-faceted word, and can only be clarified by watching the video clip. I hear many Egyptians were confused by the lyrics of this song when it came out; this seems to be a normal part of the "sh3abi condition".
