All of the categories are full! There are 2 (two) wait-list spaces for the Belly Dancer of the Year Soloist, but the other categories (Duo/Trio, Troupe, and Grand Dancer) are full including their respective wait-lists.

There are four categories for contestants in the Pageant: Belly Dancer of the Year, Grand Dancer,
Duos and Trios, and Troupes.

The Pageant is a professional and highly regarded competition with outstanding performers and judges.
Come participate in the Pageant, enjoy the spectacular performances and, of course, enjoy the shopping!

In addition to trophies for 1st through 5th place, prizes for the BELLY DANCER OF THE YEAR are:

1st prize ----------------- $500 2nd prize ----------------- $200 3rd prize ----------------- $100

The prize for GRAND DANCER is $250, with lovely trophies for 1st and 2nd runner-up.

The BELLY DANCE TROUPE OF THE YEAR 1st place prize is $250, a trophy and beautiful keepsakes for each member
of the troupe. Second prize is $100 and a trophy; 3rd prize is a trophy.

The BELLY DANCE DUOS and TRIOS OF THE YEAR 1st place prize is $250, with trophies for 1st and 2nd runner-up.

There will be workshops featuring BDOY past winners!

I just wanted to thank Leea and everyone at the Bellydance! studio for putting so much hard work into the pageant this year. It was really fun, but exhausting, and i can only imagine how time-consuming and tiring it must be for the stage hands and sound people and backstage volunteers and everyone else who works behind the scenes.

Thanks so much! you really provide one of the nicest venues for a competition in the country.

Dinner Show & Workshops

After the Pageant finals on Sunday, there will be a dinner show at El Morocco featuring guest dancers as well as the winning dancer.
On Monday there is an all day workshop taught by last year's Grand Dancer Dunia, Belly Dancer of the Year 2005 Shabnam, and Troupe Director of 2004 winning troupe Unmata, Amy Sigil!
