Hi,
I have a sudden clearing in my schedule and I'm tempted to attend at Tribal:Pura workshop that's about six hours away from me.
I was looking for some feedback on what Carolena and Megha's teaching styles were like, how many participants are there usually, etc.

Re: REQUEST: Tribal:Pura
Wed, February 6, 2008 - 2:27 PMI attended a tribal pura workshop (I think it was 2 days) about 2 years ago in North Carolina. I really enjoyed it.
There were about 40-50 students there from what I remember but it didn't seem overly crowded. Carolena and Megha did a great job of moving around and making sure everyone could see what was going on. Both were excellent about answering quesitons.
Part of the time we drilled individual movements and the rest of the time we worked in small groups to practice cuing and formation changes. We also worked with finger cymbals quite a bit.
I would definitely go to another one. -

Re: REQUEST: Tribal:Pura
Fri, February 8, 2008 - 2:39 PMIf you want to learn the FCBD format, this is a must! I have gone to three Tribal Pura events and love them and would highly recommend them for any level dancer. Plus, Tribal Pura is a great deal and Megha mentioned that the Puras are going to be fewer and they plan to focus on the General Skills workshops which are far more expensive.
Go now while you have the chance!

Tue, February 12, 2008 - 9:05 AMThanks for the advice, everyone. I keep vacillating on it.
I love ATS, but I like a lot of other things as well. I'm just trying to narrow down where I want to spend my workshop money this year.
