Hello, what are some of the best things to store/carry/keep floggers in? I use a travel bag and that works for me.
I also store a crop, smaller whips, slappers, rope/handcuffs (I keep the key/surgical scissors on my keychain) and 2 small paddles in there.
I like to be organized. What do you keep your floggers and other equipment in or where do you hang them or keep them when you're not using them?

Re: what do you keep your equipment in?
Sun, July 6, 2008 - 6:31 AMThe old Castlebar playspace was rather dark and I got tired of fumbling around for toys in a dark bag. Since I am a talented woodworker, I made a fitted wooden case to carry my impliments in. It is a huge improvement over a bag, however, I am not one to carry 1/2 the inventory of Mr. S to a playspace as some do so my needs for space are a bit less.
My next evolution of the case will have built in legs so that it will also serve as a table so that I don't have to bend over to retrieve my implements.

Re: what do you keep your equipment in?
Sun, July 6, 2008 - 6:49 AMsince i have a kid, at home we keep everything in a stacked Craftsman tool box. The many drawers and locking capability is perfect for organization and to keep everything safely stowed when not in use.
people.tribe.net/subbygirl...72de9fb88e
we have duffels for travel (with labelled zip-locs for each type of item) and a smallish one for necessities if we're just doing some play outside the home for the evening. -

Re: what do you keep your equipment in?
Sun, July 6, 2008 - 8:38 AMWe have a lovely bondage bed that Master built that has 4 deep drawers--2 of them have sliding trays to hold more stuff. Under the head of the bed it is open the whole width of the bed--we store canes, spreader bars and such under there. The foot of the bed holds all our erotica. Everything is easily reachable for that spur of the moment need.
people.tribe.net/masterm/p...17fcd6f3ee
It's not the best of photos but in MasterM's profile there are several pictures of the bed. Somehow we have to move this thing to our new house next month.
For a toy bag, we're one of those that uses the rolling luggage--the carry on size. We try to make sure we take just enough to fill it up when going out. We can really get a bit of everything in there and have never felt like something was missing. Canes fit in a portfolio tube that can extend several feet if needed. We did the dufflebag but it got heavy and awkward to carry. We have one friend who uses a full size suitcase.

Re: what do you keep your equipment in?
Sun, July 6, 2008 - 10:22 AMWow, I feel woefully under-equipped. All my stuff fits in a small, sturdy cardboard box that I decoupaged to make it look fancy.
I have a tip, though: whenever you buy shoes or electronics or whatever and get one of those silica gel-packs, tuck it in your toy box. The last thing you want is your leather gear getting mildewed. -

Re: what do you keep your equipment in?
Sun, July 6, 2008 - 12:32 PMat home, my gear lives in a nice cedar chest. For going out, I use a baseball bag. The long part (where the bats go) is perfect for my canes, the bag part holds floggers, rope, safety kit, etc.
My violet wand is in a separate case and I also have a separate fire kit.

Sun, July 6, 2008 - 2:29 PMI use a leather duffel bag when I'm carrying them to a play party and at home I keep them in an army missile ammo case.
Kinda like this, but the US version: www.surplusandoutdoors.com/shop....html -

Re: what do you keep your equipment in?
Sun, July 6, 2008 - 6:51 PMAnother handy tip I heard from a friend...she uses one of those over the door shoe holders in the bedroom...you know the kind with all the pickets for like a dozen pairs of shoes? She said it works great for dildos, vibes and all those little things. We hung a tie holder in our living room to hang the floggers when we play a lot..we've got a spanking bench that converts to end tables but sometimes it's really a spanking bench so the floggers hanging there are good. Also when they are out like that, they tend to get used more. Around here where we're so busy we don't play much but I'm thinking I need to hang a flogger on the door knob.

Re: what do you keep your equipment in?
Mon, July 7, 2008 - 7:52 AMI lucked out on a beautiful (and huge) blue train trunk that slided under the bed. It was left by someone moving out of the dorms.
It's big enough to hold everything I have now, and it has enough space that I can continue collecting toys for some time and not run out.
Makes me happy to think what it will be like when it's finally full.
It also has a satisfyingly loud creak when I open it.

Re: what do you keep your equipment in?
Mon, July 7, 2008 - 7:55 AMWe usually bring a small suitcase w/wheels and a tripod bag for our longer toys. At home, many of my tools hang on the bedroom wall on a wooden clothes rack that has triskels engraved on it. It has 5 metal pegs sticking out and a few hooks on the bottom for other items. The tripod bag is made of durable cloth & accommodates longer items such as my canes, crop, spreader bar and such. It can also handle a few floggers, slapper, and a good sized paddle. It has a shoulder strap and can expand or contract with a circular zipper for longer or shorter items. It's about 6" in diameter and about 3' long & can expend an additional 8". It doesn't look kinky at all out in 'nilla land :) I have silky cloth tubes to carry my floggers in. It helps them keep from getting their tails entwined. They are long and can also be used for bondage or just fun silky sensations. Now that we're traveling on motorcycles more and more, it's a challenge to carry longer & heavier items to motels and kinky camps along with our other camp or motel travel necessities.

Wed, July 9, 2008 - 5:01 PMI use a nylon equipment bag. Essentially soft luggage.
At home, I generally hang the soft impact toys. Most other toys go in drawers.

Re: what do you keep your equipment in?
Thu, July 10, 2008 - 6:36 PMFor travel to parties, I'm partial to ropes bags. As in, bags made for technical climbers' ropes. The one I've most recently begun to use has a 5' x 4' integral ground cloth for the ropes (or my dungeon stuff), which one wraps over everything. Then it all can slide into the bag part, which cinches down with 3 means and has backpack straps. I can then carry heavy loads without blowing out my wrists. And it still can be wrestled into most lockers. I love the thing. Odds-n-ends inside are in ziplocs or lingerie zipping bags. If I put floggers inside, I slide them (usually two at a time) into inexpensive girls' legwarmers (love some of the hot pink sayings on some!) which keeps them from getting messed up, and keeps them organized.
Canes go into a $10 expanding black plastic 4 inch wide blueprints tube.
At home, I try to hang all leather soft items like floggers from 'biners on hangers. I live in a moist climate, and am terrified the leather will get mildewed. -

Thu, July 10, 2008 - 6:37 PMOh, and seeing the name "Rope Master" on the side of one of the bags doesn't hurt any!

Re: what do you keep your equipment in?
Thu, July 10, 2008 - 6:48 PMKewl idea Grizzly, the bag/backpack is integrated with the ground cloth. Everyone usually have to roll out a small blanket at playparties and your system includes it as part of the bag. I'll have to check into smaller ones for use on our motorcycles.
Thanx for the great idea!

Re: what do you keep your equipment in?
Thu, July 10, 2008 - 7:04 PMYes, I love the fact that all my junk is still on the cloth when I dump it out. And if I play too long and forget a DM shift, I can go into a panic and have everything packed back up and on the way to a locker in about 2 - 4 minutes. Don't need the blanket for the toys, although I've always liked having one for a playpartner.
You won't have a problem finding *smaller* ones. It's just a bitch finding bigger ones. Mine took some looking, but is the biggest on the market. Little guys are easy to find. (And I find the Metolius brand the best, so far. Despite a fondness for Black Mountain products in other cases.) It's a good idea to poke around until you find a site that gives you the cubic inch capacity of the bags, though. Otherwise, you might find yourself with one too small for your usual stuff. I found that several times, before deciding I had to have the biggest one on the market, one that doesn't come up on REI's page.

Re: what do you keep your equipment in?
Mon, July 28, 2008 - 10:05 AMI use two different bags.....when I need to bring alot of stuff rope/toys/wand etc I use a hard shelled golf travel bag. The kind people use to bring golf clubs on airplanes. It's nice in that it locks as well. I have outfitted the inside with a little storage area for small stuff like clamps and hooks on either side to hang floggers.
For small parties or when I just need to bring rope I use a three fold travel suitcase. Carryon sized and lots of great places to store things.

Re: what do you keep your equipment in?
Mon, July 28, 2008 - 11:11 PMDepending on how much equipment you're hauling around....
We use a black faux crocodile skin wine box...the kind that is rectangular (holds 1 bottle, 2 glassed, and the wine key). It looks like a little briefcase, has style, and a red lining to boot.
For storage: extra large carabiners (you know, those climbers gadgets). They are perfect for all the toys that have a handstrap.
