I ask, because I did an experiment on a spare piece of wood and a rub on decal and it didn't ruin or lift up or other wise cloud the decal, and it's been many months, and it gives the decal a nice look, and so I thought maybe I'd use the stuff to seal my wood paddles. But not if it's toxic or not skin safe once dry.

Re: would envirotex pour on high gloss be skin safe to use to seal wood paddles?
Mon, October 5, 2009 - 9:30 AMAs a boat builder the raw epoxy resin is nasty, even penetrates latex gloves.
Cured, like most things, it won't cause any problems.
There will always be some skin types that react as an allergy to some things.
Unless you have a slave try it carefully on your own sensitive skin parts. -

Fri, October 16, 2009 - 4:42 PMIt's a good idea to be paddled with the paddle first to see if the finish bothers me. Since largely I will probably be using them, since I like to design them.

Mon, October 19, 2009 - 10:22 PMit's non toxic when fully cured, which is after about 72 hours.
It's actually one of several products used as an alternative now for people who make leather drinking vessels since brewers pitch is no longer readily available. It's food safe and non toxic after fully cured.
