Getting Older

Yup we are aging and it shows. Seems no matter how hard I try or work out - things just rearrange! I have spent hundreds of dollars on creams, books, and even this vibrator thing to rid myself of this cheesy looking cellulite on my upper thighs - nothing has worked and it is depressing!

Do any of you have any other ideas? I am not really interested in lipo. :(

Folsom St. Fair this year, 2008

Well, there was the good, the bad, and the downright ugly.....not talking about anyone's looks, but actions...

The good part was Mistress Heart's very sensual erotic sensual energy whipping demo...I really enjoyed the energy between you and your sub, she seemed to be very much enjoying herself in the demo. The only distraction was the squeaks from the microphone, and loud microphone from the other venue up front of the womyn's area. Since you were trying to build energy, they should not have scheduled an event across from yours, or at least kept it down.

I really liked the three of you as a team, you and Cayenne, and your very sensual responsive sub. The energy was great, and a wonderful beginning to my Folsom, which certainly put me in the mood.....

There were the usual too many bodies, too many men without their parts covered, and could have done without seeing their naked organs, packaging, packaging, packaging is so much more attractive. I was a bit dismayed that there were so many looky loos these last few years, compared to the years past where there were far more leatherfolks, dressed in their leathers, leading their slaves. Too many tourists and closet cases. It was nice sitting around the womyn's area after we wandered around for a bit and had lunch after Mistress Heart's fine demo. It was the only demo I had any interest in. Well, I've been working hard on the No on 8 campaign. Vote no on Prop 8, otherwise if passed, it's a constitutional amendment that would ban same sex marriage. And my partner and I are very much involved in the marriage equality movement, got married in 2004, and hope to remarry next month, before the elections.....

In any case, just as I crossed the street on 8th, there were huge signs, for "Yes on 8", that is, the rightwing xtians against same sex marriage, and for this discriminatory amendment...That's the ugly part. Here, after a festival for my sexual freedom, I gotta deal with this shit. So, I said something to them, and their hate, and basically they tried to engage me and film me, and yes, I went off. Like 'get out of San Francisco, go to some 3rd world country, anywhere's but SF" and a few explectives(cuss words) in the process. Yeah, I lost my cool.
It's cuz of them that our lives as lesbians and gays are so compromised, and limited in opportunities, and yes, their hate of us preached in their churches leads to alot of anti-gay bias and actual physical violence from the youth and others. My partner lost it, cuz she was removed from her house in another red state, all her possessions sold by her ex lover, but when she was with a man, she got half. When she had been with this female partner of 8 years, SHE GOT ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. So, it was very emotional for her, and she told them her story. We weren't too cool of cucumbers. And I wonder where their videos will end up.

Also, along with their "Yes on 8" signs, they had a huge sign that said "Folsom Street Fair are orgies and .... " something equally as horrible...well, not that I mind orgies....but it was another word, even more incendiary about the Fair. Of all the years I've gone to Folsom, and it's been at least 15 years plus if not 20...many, many years, I've NEVER SEEN RIGHTWINGERS PROTESTING AND SPREADING THEIR HATE. It's like since last year when they were flying overhead with anti-homosexual signs dragged behind the planes, Folsom has surfaced on their radar, along with the kink/leather community as a whole....since gays and lesbians and other members of the LGBT community are fighting back and well politically organized.

So, the whole deal left us in a pretty foul mood, in what started out as a nice day, with really wonderful weather, just enough of a chill to not be too overheated in our leathers.....and The Venus Playground more well organized than before.

So, my resolve is I'll work harder than ever to defeat Prop 8. Remember, to keep the ability to marry the person of your choice, vote NO ON PROPOSITION 8! I'll be phonebanking again on Wednesday, and they have phonebanks set up all over. Look up NOONPROP8.com or .org

women's tent at Folsom needs volunteers

Venus' Playground is the women's dungeon and demo tent at the Folsom Street Fair. We are putting together a safe haven for women at Folsom which can be fun but crowded and stressful by mid afternoon. we will have a furnished dungeon and will be presenting demos throughout the afternoon at both a women's only area and a pan sexual area for our non female friends.

Venus' Playground welcomes all who identify as women in the Past, Present and Future

Here are the volunteer shifts and jobs we need to fill at Venus’ Playground Sunday Sept 28. We have 1.5 hr shifts and for each shift we have 3 jobs to fill.

Shift times-
11:00-12:30
12:30-2:00
2:00-3:30
3:30-5:00

Door- 2 needed- Greet and let in women. Point out the rules and explain the tent to people

DM- 2 needed- patrol the dungeon area, hand out supplies, insure dungeon rules are followed. At least 1 year on the BDSM scene preferred. There will be a DMA certified coordinator in the dungeon for any questions or assistance.

Security- 2 needed- patrol the perimeter of the area both inside and outside, watching for sneaky photographers and gaps in the tent walls. There will be a security coordinator with a radio to official FSE security so you will not have to deal with unruly behavior or emergencies.

Xtc is the volunteer coordinator please either post here or contact her directly to let us know which job and shifts times interest you.

Hi all. Ii'm new here and must say that i have enjoyed the rang of topics and the honest, frank and respectful responses to posts and questions. :) And i am hoping to recieve that same honesty in response to my question. i am ready to accept if I am wrong, i just really need some ubiased opinions.

Some background to the age old question i have raised in my subject line. i have been in a D/s relationship with my MAster for coming up to four years. It has a very intense 4 years emotionally and psychologically. W/we have lived together for some of that time although at the moment have separate homes, that being said i still consider the realtionship to be virtually 24/7. When W/we first met, i had an addiction to chat. i had a number of male Dominants that i would talk to a lot about BDSM, what i imagined i would like, what i had done, different activities etc. Some of them i played with on a casual basis. i am ashamed to say i was married at the time. The marriage was in touble and six months later we separated. i accept that i was wrong to cheat, and should have left the marriage before exploring BDSM.

Not long after meeting my Master He hacked my email and msn accounts (He still monitors all my computer and moile phone activity secretly) and found out i was still chatting about BDSM online. It was not "cybersex', nor was i seeing any other Dominant. The argument was huge and i felt humiliated when He told me i was sick, unfatihful, had a problem. So He made me close all my email accounts and msn accounts. Six months later He confessed that He had been seeing two women, one vanilla and one submissive, since W/we first met but that those relationships were over. (FTR i had told Him i was married when W/we first met)

W/we would argue over a lot of things, He didn't like the way my divorce settlement was going or the financial arrangements i was making for my children, and the things He would say drove me to attempt suicide on two occassions. i would just feel so worthless. 14 months ago He lost His temper and hurt me. In court He claimed that my injuries occurred during play - that i liked it rough and was just using my injuries to get back at Him over an argument.

W/we got past that and tried again. It's been an up and down kind of ride since then. 7 months ago W/we started talking about children, He doesnt have any and wants one, i havent managed to concieve. a couple of weeks ago i found out He had joined an online dating site. I found out because He had tried to hit on my sister (His profile had a pic, my sisters didn't). He told me it was just for fun, titilation. When i decided that i no longer wanted to have a child with Him, he ordered me to, as my Master. A couple of days ago i used his computer and yes i looked around and foud over a dozen saved chats with womentalking about what He would like to do with them etc. When i confronted Him He said it was my fault that if i had been giving Him what He needed He wouldnt have to look elsewhere, that i had no right to invade his privacy and look at his files. again i felt humiliated and bad and guilty. He blames the demise of our relationship on me since He says i cant commit.(i didnt tell my friends or family W/we were still together after the court case becasue they would disown me but had planned on telling tem when i fell pregnant)

i just need to know if He's right...am i a bad submissive, a bad partner...is He right? am i just not a good submissive, good partner, good person. Was our relationship D/s and i couldnt handle it....or had it turned into something else. As my Master does He have the right to dictate if i have a baby, how i bring up my daughter, if i can do work at home, what and when i should tell my friends and family, how i should manage my relationship with my ex husband (and my two boys who live with him) who i can have as friends? Are these things i should be able to offer my Master?

Anyway, i apologise for such a long post even this is the abridged version....lol. Thanks for reading :) it's kind of healing just to have it written down, to have it out there....i know i am not perfect, or easy to live with but right now i am just really confused.

I am thinking a little more about uniforms now, having talked with a woman at IMsL who was in uniform. Turns out, she was in the service or had been recently. I think women in (most) uniforms are hot, and I have considered getting a uniform myself, but having talked with this woman, I've been wondering about the wearing of a uniform if one is not in the military, police, etc. (i.e., as a costume of sorts). It wasn't anything she said that got me thinking about this; more, it was about my not realizing that some of these women in uniform are actually soldiers, etc. I would also add that perhaps those who do work in uniform are less likely to wear them in a kinky context (due to wanting to protect their identities or following policies on refraining from dishonoring their uniform).

My girl and I went to "Bang for the Buck." at the Citadel on Friday night. For the most part, we had a good time. Lots of hot women. Very good energy, EXCEPT.....

A transperson who unfortunately looked to me like a man with a big meat dick, lay down naked in the recovery area and began wanking. Now I try to be accommodating about people who don't fit my definition of women at what I perceive to be women's parties, but this was just too much (for me and my girl) like playing at the Power Exchange with the towel boys wanking around. Although I tried to keep my back to this person, and to stand between where my girl was tied and this person, it gave a seriously creepy energy to the party until he was done and left. (And I say "he" because that is how I perceive people behaving like that.) Now is the first time in my life I've been able to identify, articulate, and act on my own needs. I spent seventeen years unwillingly surrendering my will and my self to people who had no clue how to foster my healthy development, and although I've long stood in a place of compassion for them, I wonder if I'm just repeating that situation here. I know My Captain has my best interests at heart, but I don't know if service is an appropriate implementation of those interests.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Similar struggles?

BDSM and abuse survivors

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that volumes have been written on the topic, but I'm wondering what the members of this tribe think... It seems to me that many women in the scene are survivors of sexual abuse of some kind. Granted, many women in ANY group are going to be survivors of sexual abuse (another topic for another day), but over time as I meet more women in the scene, it seems like there is a special kind of healing potential in BDSM play for survivors of sexual abuse. A potential that is easily misunderstood by people outside the process.

For me, the first personally important scene I did was to replay being raped as the victim, but according to my own fantasies of being ravaged, taken, etc. For SO many years, I'd harbored dark rape fantasies, and felt guilty and ashamed. My ex-husband was horrified by the idea that I'd ever want to get anywhere near recreating the violent and abusive experiences (yes, plural) of my past. But that's where the "heat" was. That's where my mind went when we were having painfully dull vanilla sex for years. Finally, when I got to live it out, it was as if I had been liberated from a prison. I felt I'd reclaimed the sexuality stolen from me at 14. It was a huge turning point for me, from a mental health perspective, and perhaps one of the most healing experiences I've ever had.

Fast forward 2 years, and I experienced healing from childhood incest during a scene in which I was able to play out fucking my dad--I "saw" my dad's face on my lover's face, and was able to process the conflicting emotional turmoil of physical desire and shame and fear and hate and betrayal and loss and anger... Something I can't imagine doing in any other context.

Since then, my interest in kink has changed a lot. I used to have very general interest in play, but these days my interest has narrowed quite a bit, and I'm much much more picky and careful than I was even 6 months ago. Part of the healing process, I'm guessing.

I know other people have experienced this sort of thing, though I think that people don't talk about it much because there is a negative stereotype that only "broken" people get into kink, that survivors of abuse are just reperpetrating themselves when they play.

I'm wondering what others think or have experienced--I'd like to hear about the healing benefits that others have experienced as I continue to work to understand my own healing process and relationship to BDSM play. PM me if you're more comfortable communicating that way.

For the love of God, if you just have to slap a moronic message on a maxi pad, wouldn't it make more sense to say something that's actually pertinent, like "Put Down the Hammer" or "Vehicular Manslaughter Is Wrong", or are you just picking on us?

Sir, please inform your Accounting Department that, effective immediately, there will be an $8 drop in mon thly profits, for I have chosen to take my maxi-pad business elsewhere. And though I will certainly miss your Flex-Wings, I will not for one minute miss your brand of condescending bull shit. And that's a promise I will keep.
