I have a few pals I know from the internet and I like to send them little gifts for the holidays. I have saved the Altoids mint boxes and I am going to spray paint them and add a cross stitched piece to the top. Not sure if they will be a sewing kit or photo holder (I may see if a dollar store has any that will fit the box).
The designs are sweet but simple (the letter of the person's last name like 'L' with a ladybug), so I am whipping them out in an evening or so.
Any plans for homemade gifts?

This sounds really neat.. can you post pictures of your project???
Another sugestion is to background in a dark blue, and get one of those lace doilies, and paint over it, in white.. the pattern is quite lovely....
I'm just doing more ornaments. Painted round ball ornaments, porcelain ornaments and a few other items for the holidays.
I'll be making some fall stuff but not sure about the Halloween stuff yet.. we don't get too much for halloween here..

I just posted one of the little tins I made. This is mine. It was a round candy tin that I spray painted tan. My son said it looked like a store bought piece when I'm not even finished with it. I guess that was a compliment.

Yes, it's on a red pillow there in the photo album. I want to add some ribbon to the edge of the tin. The other things are mushroom pin cushions made out of half a stryafoam ball, fabric and a spool of thread. I live near 'the mushroom capital of the world' so they seemed like fitting gifts to make.
