Buckskin

I can post pics of the buckskin dress I made for my daughters wedding as well as her dress. I made her fan, her choker and my son-in-law's medicine staff.. as well as 50 gifts to give away to the guest who attended the wedding. She was married Chippewa style under the Eagle staff. It was a fantastic wedding and very beautiful..

All the stitching I do in my leather craft is hand done. No machine is used.. I measure and punch all the holes then stitch either with sinew or hand cut leather lacing.. (depending on the look I want.)

I make many different styles of leather pouches, barettes, clothing, and numerous other articles.

All my work is for sale.. (I put that in as someone had asked..)

I would love to see the wedding dress and other items handmade by you. Sounds beautiful and unusual and a lot different than the Chantilly lace I had in 1984-lol

Lot different then the Spanish lace I had in 79. The dress was beautiful...but I love the feel of buckskin...

The buckskin dress I am wearing is not some of my best work. My daughter gave me 2 weeks to put this wedding to gether.

In a traditional Chippewa wedding the brides mother has to make or purchase gifts for each of the wedding guest..(a giveaway)

I made 50 gifts in 2 weeks, put together my dress, some of my jewelry, (some I already had made). Made my daughters feather fan, her choker, my soon to be son-in-laws, medicine staff that was my gift to him, and a few other things that I don't remember..Oh yea.. and painted the turtle on Tony's breach clout..he's the one holding the staff with the feathers on it.

Needless to say, I slept after that.. it was a very busy 2 weeks for every one.
