Hi, I'm an 8 year burner looking to share a ride, one way, from the Reno airport to Black Rock City on Wednesday, August 29th, around 3:00pm. My flight gets in @ 2:30pm.

I'm flexible on leaving somewhat later. I won't need to stop for supplies (mine will already be there with my man), although I am willing to help you shop. :) Will share driving time if you like. I'm easy going and won't talk your ear off. Non-smoker, but I won't complain if you do.

A couple years ago I did this same thing. The man I was able to ride in with arrived at the airport earlier in the day, picked up the rental car , did some supply shopping and then came to pick me up. He was a first time burner and appreciated the last minute help shopping, driving assistance, and the luxury of being able to look all around and absorb the amazing sights upon entering Black Rock City for the very first time with all the wonder of a child at Christmas time. I was able to show him where to go at Burning Man to locate camp info so he could find his friends & new campmates too.

Think this might just work for you? Please give me a call at 310-913-6911 day or night (I work graveyard). I'm *SO* excited!! It's almost time to go home to BRC!

I just found out that my boyfriends truck just died! It needs a new clutch and a new tranny. It is going to cost us $1899 to fix it . I am performing in the conclave on the night of the burn and really have to be there!! My group is depending on me!! I am also perfoming on wednesday night! I don't know any way I can get there with my boyfriend and our stuff. (we dont have a lot of stuff, just what we need)

I Have room in my RV for one or two more cool friends who could pick me up in Santa Barbara, right off the 101North Freeway, Saturday the 24th and drive us up to my 40foot delux RV which is in Sacramento right off of I-80 Freeway, which is the main freeway to the Burn! ... either leave your car there in Sacramento and jump in the RV, or drive your own car to Burningman and ill kick you some bucks for the ride-share from Santa Barbie to Sac.....ok?
..... I will be picking up a few lovely goddesses at the Sac Airport Sunday, the 25th at 7pm, then drive twards the Burn, entering with the RV Monday the 27th, since we might be short a few "early-entry" passes.

Certainly willing to help with gas and anything else I can. I don't think I'll have too much stuff, I'm trying to go light. Planning on camping with people I know there.

We're renting a vehicle to get out to the playa and back and have room(how much depending on what exactly we rent).

We'll be camping at 9:30 and esplanade(Red nose district) but we can drop you off wherever. Planning to get in early Monday and leave Tuesday after the exodus madness, although maybe before then if the traffic isn't bad. Maybe hit the hot springs and a hotel on the way home Monday. Looking for people who can pay part of their share when they commit and be ready when they say they'll be ready.

my husband and I are flying into Reno on Sat, Aug 25th and we will be spending the day gathering food and last minute supplies (most of our stuff is being hauled directly up from L.A. in a truck). We will be staying at a hotel that evening (one last nite in a real bed), then we'll be looking to get a ride out to the playa either late Sunday or early Monday (we dont have early arrival passes but we'd like to be there as near to "opening" as possible).

We will only have our luggage (2 bags each) and maybe a box of groceries that couldnt be shipped up in our boxes. No Bikes - No additional stops required! No return trip ride required (we're flying straight off the playa back to the airport)
We are flexible and can help with gas $$ for the ride out there.
Please Please help us get out to there to start our burn off right ~ we are celebrating our 1 year anniversary plus the happy news that we just found out I'm pregnant :-)

hi. my ticket and camp are figured out, but i do not have a ride to the playa solidified. saw some cheap plane tickets from nyc to reno that i want to buy, but could also fly into the bay area and come to the playa from there.

i'm interested in splitting road expenses with anyone who is willing to give me a lift to the playa. i'm a nice person and reasonably low maintenance. i don't have a driver's license, so i couldn't share driving shifts, but other than that, i'm a good road companion.

i'd need to stop off somewhere for food, water and basic playa needs and wouldn't mind finding a used bike store somewhere, but other than that will get off the plane, whether in sfo, oakland or reno totally ready to tackle the burn. if i come from the bay area, i'd have places to stay when i land in the bay and could leave any time. if i fly into reno, i'd have to wing it and probably find a cheap hotel somewhere if we didn't leave for the playa the day of my arrival.

I'm all ready and excited for my first burn! I've got everyhing- the supplies, camp, good energy- except for the ride to and back from burning man. Unfortunately, my ride situation fell through and I'm looking for a good soul to help me get there and back.I live here in SF in the inner sunset and would be happy to help with gas/food/packing/driving etc. I'm flexible on the timing of going but was thinking ideally of driving up sunday/monday and coming back next monday- but i'm open to change for the ride. I've got a friend in Humboldt County that needs a ride to Burning Man. I'm already giving someone a ride and have no more room. He is totally chill and laid back, he probably won't have too much stuff. Clothing, food, and the odds and ends. Since I'm getting in early, I'll have water for him when he gets to the playa. If anyone can help that would be totally awsome.

If it helps, he can get to the Bay Area to catch a ride.

This post is to either
A) Find a ride for 2 to Burning man from San Francisco
B) Get enough people from the Bay Area together to share the cost of a SUV or van rental + gasoline costs.

PLAN A

I and a friend will be leaving San Francisco late on Tuesday August 28 and returning from Burning Man late afternoon / Early Evening on Sunday, September 2. We will be travelling lightly, as we only need to survive for 2 days when our friends with the rest of our supplies arrive.

So if you can take 2 people with a small amount of gear, please e-mail me and we will obviously help with traveling expenses and the driving if you want us to.

PLAN B

However, I notice that there are way more people looking for rides than offering, so it looks like we may have to rent a vehicle and drive out to Burning Man. That's where you ride-seekers come in. If you'd be interested in a travel schedule outlined above, send me an e-mail with your interest. I figure we can fit 3-4 more people + gear into a full-sized SUV. Rental cost when all is split up would be about $100/person, give or take. If we go this route, we can pick you up from your location and we will have some flexibility about stopping for supplies and departure times and so on. If you want to help with the driving, that would be great, but you'd need to accompany us to the rental agency so you can be listed as an authorized driver on the vehicle.

BIOGRAPHY
We are both from New York. I'm from the Buffalo/Niagara Falls area and she is from Manhattan. We're both well-travelled and good conversationalists. She has been to Burning Man once before and really "twisted my arm" to get me to Burning Man this year ;) We met at a regional burn in Delaware, of which I have been to several and organized a few theme camps there.

I prefer to deal with folks over the phone at first, and then e-mail thereafter, so if this sounds like a plan you want to work with, please leave a phone number and a good time to reach you. It's better to write me sooner rather than later since Burning Man is fast approaching and I'll need some time to organize the rental and so forth, so if you are at all interest, go ahead and write me now.

Will not be doing a full on shopping trip in Reno, but will get dry ice, beverages and water at Scolaris.

On the other hand.... if you want to car pool with a friend or fly in and don't have room for all your gear we can do the same arrangement.

Excited about the BURN? YEah!...So, I'm looking for a ride to Burning Man, Hopefully leaving on either Tuesday night (29th) or Wednesday (the 30th). Have room?
I'm willing to share gas, and good company and maybe more. I have some good CDS, BM stories to share, and 420 (if you're wanting). I'm a 28 yr old laid back guy, non-smoker, friendly. I'm a poor college student and would love to find a fun way to get to BM. I've been to BM the last three years. I know lots of folks, so maybe I could show you around BM?! I am camping with Ill Nana, off Coral Reef and 730.
I have minimal things. Mostly just a bag of clothes and a tent. I'd like to be able to bring my bike, but can probably send it with someone else earlier if there isn't room. I can meet in the mission or downtown Berkeley, or come to you, depending on where you are.

I have early entry permission for Monday, August 20th. I am flexible as to arrival date, but could use some help with gas!
My truck, the DPW Beast, is a 77 Suburban. Room for 15 Hippies (counting the ashtray). It gets a whopping 10 MPG.
If you are up for an adventure including possible stops to be hosted by Burners in Utah, Idaho, and Nevada...I'm your man!

Ride the Red Bus from Midwest locations to BM & back

The Red Bus will ride (again) from Michigan to BM 2007 & back. And will be able to take (a few) passengers.
We will travel straight on Hwy 80 all the way from MI to BRC. We will be able to pick up passengers at any (prearranged) point along Hwy 80. But we can’t leave the highway for local pickup.
Driving time from Michigan to BM is approximately two days.
Approx. travel schedule is:
Arriving BRC on Sunday night.
Leaving Tuesday morning after the burn.
Fuel share cost for a round trip = $ 500.- (Includes Bike + 2 “Sterillite” bins + hand carried items. If you plan on taking more cargo or large items, please contact me in advance).

Ride from Vancouver, Canada to BRC

Help!

This will be my first time to BRC, and I need serious help getting a ride. I've checked the BM site's ride share, and only 2 results returned! One being an RV which I cannot afford, and the other one sounding a bit sketchy.

So to give specs per the rideshare format:
Earliest departure: Aug 23rd (I have no early entry privileges, but if you were taking your time, I'm okay with that as long as it doesn't require motel stays)
Latest departure: Aug 25th (I'd like to arrive on the 27th at the latest!)
Earliest return to Vancouver: Sep 3rd (I don't know if that's possible even if we left that morning!)
Latest return to Vancouver: Sep 5th (I can't miss more than 2 days of school)

I'm a non-smoker, full-time student, living off loans. Camping alone, but in a theme camp. Can of course chip in for gas, but looking to spend about $200 max return. The only reason I'm able to afford BM at all is because I got a scholarship ticket.

I will be offering a ride from the Bay Area and the stated above areas to BRC. I have a Ford Ranger with a passenger and a jump seats open. The passenger seat will be reserved for a large person. The jump seats are facing each other and cramped. If a large person does not take up my offer then we can rotate seats on the way up to BRC. Please note!!! Last year my two passengers and myself found the jump seat to be very cozy. Go Figure!!!

My Ranger, Thor, is in excellent shape with AC, open rear window, cup holder in front and back, XM radio and CD Player that can read MP3s. I have a bike rack (with lock) that can hold up to 4 bikes. The bed of my Ranger has a tonnou so your stuff will be locked for all road stops. SPACE IS VERY LIMITED!!! YOU MIGHT HAVE TO CARRY SOME OF YOUR STUFF ON YOUR LAP IF NEED BE!!!

Routes, Stops and Pick Up Locations

I live in Petaluma. I will pick up anyone in SF, North Bay, East Bay, South Bay, or along the final route. If you really really really in need of a ride and you are not in these locations or coming from an airport... then lets talk!

I will be making rest stops at all rest stops. Potty breaks and need for a smoke (NO TOKE) or stretch are very much welcome! So are taking pictures.

I had two routes in mind but the final route will be:

1. Hwy 80/50 and dinner at the El Dorado Buffet (very yummy) in Reno. (We did this last time and it was cool)

2. Hwy 120/395 Through Yosemite and Mono Lake. (I took this route in 2005. Very nice!!!)

RULES:

1. No smoking in my truck.
2. NO DRUGS!!!
3. Must have ticket in hand. NO WILL CALLS OR WALK UPS.
4. Be well bathed.

Since the official 2007 BRC maps is coming out very late this year. The prospective location of the camp will be:

9:15 and Freshwater Outer Ring

This is assuming that this area is open to unreserved camps this Burn. I will leave word of the exact location at Ice-3, Ice-9, Arctica, and Information.

IC9 will be setup at Gates Open around 2:00 in the morning and we will officially break camp on Tuesday September 4th.

Just look for a Tan Ford Ranger with a Bike Rack in back. There will be a last minute sign and maybe some traffic cones. If I have the $$$ and time I will string up some EL Wire.

Please message me to reserve your spot. Please let me know how many people are in your party. If you can, please bring EL Wire to light up your tent.

if all goes acording to plan i should be landing in reno at 7:09 pm 8/30/06. it's united airlines flight 1403 from denver. i broke down and scraped up enough cash for a rent~a~car, and as of yet am the only person in it. i'll just have to make a quick stop for supplies, then playa bound. yippie!

Hey there!! I'm landing at the Reno airport on Weds evening, anyone else gonna be passing through or arriving at about that time? I'm travelling light, and totally down with pitching in for gas etc.

Me: BM virgin, arriving from Seattle, camping in Gigsville; 25, bi, F, artist/metalsmith, smart, feisty. The tribe I'm camping with christened me "HotSauce" after the first night they met me, take from that what you will! Nonsmoker but tolerant.

Hello everyone. :)

I am leaving with room for one to the Playa tomorrow (Wednesday) am. I have room for your stuff, your bike, and you! This will be my first Burn and we will be travelling with another virgin. I have a station wagon and only my stuff in it.

About me: I'm 24 college student, tenting it with Camp Arachnid (rope bondage camp). My travel buddy will also be Camping with Arachnid, so we can drop you off where you want or at the gate.

So there is no confusion about money, I am asking for 65 dollars in gas. We will be leaving around 10am from the Cal Train station, but can travel to get you.

Ride offer: Santa Cruz to BRC Tuesday 11:30pm departure

Okay all you last minute lucy's.. You know that saying about 'the universe will take care of you".

Well, here's the universe taking care of one of you. We have a space available for a human in a passenger seat of a minivan.

Leaving the Seabright area tomorrow, Tuesday night at 11:30 pm and therefore arriving to the playa 'round sunrise. Here are the stipulations:

1. You can't be a totally socially inept freak. This is a six hour drive. You have to be able to hold an interesting conversation or at least sleep peacefully. No glitchy weirdos.
2. You have to have minimal stuff to bring with you. We might be able to accomodate a bike, sleeping bag, clothing containers (ie suitcase, etc).. but tents and shade structures or your 4x6 art project is probably a no-go.
3. We'd appreciate gas money.

The return trip is scheduled for Monday, if you are interested in that too.

Please in-box me with a contact phone number and I will call you around noon to lock in departure address. We look forward to speaking with you soon.

Ride Offered to BRC Tuesday August 29 from the SF Bay Area

We have room for one more person with gear and possibly another person without gear in our mini van.

We will be leaving for the playa on Tuesday night around 8-9pm. We will be returning from the playa either Sunday or Monday.

We will only be stopping for quick food stops, bathroom breaks, gas, etc. We should arrive on the playa around 2AM or so. We can pick up our rider anywhere in the East Bay or in San Francisco or further on the way (Fairfeild, Davis, Sacramento, Reno, etc.)

All we ask is that you refrain from drama, and help chip in for gas. We are smokers but can refrain from smoking around our riders if needed.

I have one seat open in my Ranger. The other seat is taken. The fourth seat will be for baggage. Unless if someone really really really need a ride and willing to travel super light. I can take one passenger with little stuff. I DO HAVE A BIKE RACK THAT CAN HOLD UP TO 4 BIKES!!!

I will be offering a ride from the Bay Area and the stated above areas to BRC. I have a Ford Ranger with a passenger and two jump seats open. The passenger seat will be reserved for a large person. The two jump seats are facing each other and cramped. If a large person does not take up my offer then we can rotate seats on the way up to BRC.

My Ranger is in excellent shape with AC, open rear window, cup holder in front and back, XM radio and CD Player. I have a bike (with lock) rack that can hold up to 4 bikes. The bed of my Ranger has a tonnou so your stuff will be locked for all road stops. SPACE IS VERY LIMITED!!! YOU MIGHT HAVE TO CARRY SOME OF YOUR STUFF ON YOUR LAP IF NEED BE!!!

Routes, Stops and Pick Up Locations

I live in Petaluma. I will pick up anyone in SF, North Bay, East Bay or along the final route. If you really really really in need of a ride and you are not in these locations or coming from an airport... then lets talk!

I will be making rest stops at all rest stops. Potty breaks and need for a smoke (NO TOKE) or stretch are very much welcome! So are taking pictures.

I had two routes in mind but the final route will be:

1. Hwy 80 and dinner at the El Dorado Buffet (very yummy) in Reno.

RULES

1. No smoking in my truck.
2. NO DRUGS!!!
3. Must have ticket in hand. NO WILL CALLS OR WALK UPS.
4. Be well bathed.

SF to BRC - Leaving late Sun 8/27 Return Mon 9/4

My friend bailed on me at the last minute. And, through an ironic twist of fate, my rental car got upgraded to a minivan. Go figure. Now I have space for 2 additional plus gear.

I want to head out late Sunday (10PMish) in order to arrive in plenty of time for a 4-8AM greeter shift Monday. I am part of the Hawaii Fire Contingent and have to pick up my ticket at will call. Hoping for some cool company and to recoup some of my costs.

I know it's cutting it close so call ASAP and we'll chat.
