I'm interested in getting a new Stella scooter...Bajaj's just don't have enough chrome for me, guess I'm an aesthete...but they aren't sold in California yet.
Anyone know if they're legal to drive here, just not to sell? And are they decent?..they seem pretty sound.

Re: Stella scooters
Wed, February 2, 2005 - 8:03 AMI'm on my second one... I've had Vespas (Rally and P200E back in Blighty) and the Stella doesn't dissapoint. Front disc brake, gas shocks, electric start (for lazy cnuts like me), plenty of accessories available and it's obviously compatable with P series Vespas parts.... I don't think they're available for sale in Cali though, shame, I'm sure it would be a blast heading down 101 with a load of other Stella riders.

Re: Stella scooters
Wed, February 2, 2005 - 9:18 PMI've got 8,800 miles on my Stella. They're great bikes. Reliable too. I've used mine everyday to get to work and back.
California has strict emission laws. I hear you can import a Stella from out of state, but it has to be used.
Seliing new 2 strokes is going to be illegal in the whole US in 2006.
