Re: STOP!
Tue, January 30, 2007 - 3:21 PMLez see....I just got done reading a few books by George Orwell....Nineteen-eightfour and Animal Farm. Pretty good. I've been working on The Lord of the Rings...Fellowship of the Ring. But the guy I'm dating told me that The Kite Runner was very good so I went to the library and picked that up today.....starting it tonight. And it'll give us something cool to talk about :) I'm also in the middle of reading Brick Lane (about a muslim woman from India who has an affair). I love reading but its so hard to stay with one book because I want to read like 9009 of them at a time!!!
Trina...your books all look great! I'll have to look into them :)

Tue, January 30, 2007 - 4:50 PMI'm readin "Norwegian Wood" by Murakami. I love ALL of his stuff. So surreal :)
Diana - Is "Brick Lane" set in London by any chance? It's a very famous street in the middle of London's Baghra-town. I used to walk down it every day to get to school! :) -

Re: STOP!
Wed, January 31, 2007 - 7:54 AMI'm in the middle of an Ina May one, right now! Some things that are mentioned are perhaps a bit crunchy for me, but you take what you need from it and understand that everyone has a different path.
And Happiest Baby on the Block. I am wowed that I like it, but it's written very matter of factly, and just seems right.
I can never read just one book at a time.
Oooh, sweetie, if you could share the titles, that would be great!

Wed, January 31, 2007 - 9:16 AMtrina!!!!!!!
how'z ze bébé?
me, i'm reading microbiology: an introduction. **sigh** i started school last night. and is it totally dorky that i think i'm already in love with this class? i mean, i get to play with pathogenic diseases!
hooray for nursing school!
and i'm picking up love in the time of cholera this weekend. i bought it at an estate sale- it's a first edition, how cool is that? i just learned that they're filming the movie version in gabriel garcia marquez's hometown in columbia. if you've never read his stories, they're at once beautiful and incredibly haunting. i've never read this one (which is odd, because ít's the one that put him on the map), and i'm excited to do so! he wrote this amazing short story years ago that i saw as a production on PBS and it's one of those stories that haunts me. and of course, no one else is as obsessed with it as i am....

Wed, January 31, 2007 - 10:16 AMSteena-mama...
"Bountiful, Beautiful, Blissful" by Kaur Khalsa Gurmukh....she actually has a center in CA that would be way cool to attend...she is such an enlightened, beautiful person...
and the other is, "Magical Beginnings, Enchanted Lives: a Holistic Guide to Pregnancy and Childbirth" by Deepak Chopra & David MP Simon (yes, 2 men)...but it's beautiful, and maybe a bit xtra beautiful because it was written by men??? hmmmm....

Re: STOP!
Wed, January 31, 2007 - 1:49 PMDiana, did you end up getting the Kite Runner...? I think that was the title you mentioned above...it's soooo much fun reading the "same" book with someone you are close with, not only does it give you something to talk about, you each get the benefit of enjoying it from each others perspectives...like a 2 for 1 deal.
Jay and I read MOMO together, which I highly recommend BTW!!!...and we helped each other see it with different eyes/minds...it was a really cool experience...
