If your house would go on fire, what three objects (not persons) would you try to save?
<insert Trina, the insurance agent>....please review your homeowners or tenants policy and make sure you are properly covered.... ((sorry, couldn't help myself))

Re: If......
Fri, March 17, 2006 - 7:41 AM1) my glasses (all of them) =)
2) my mala beads
3) my case of chanting cd's
FYI: while visualizing myself taking these three items, the movie " The Jerk" came to mind...Steve Martin going thru the house with, "I need this...nothing else....oh, I need this..."
...this is so hard, took me about an hour to be really honest with myself on this...well, kinda honest, if I was to be REALLY honest, I would have tried to grab as much as I could.... -

Re: If......
Fri, March 17, 2006 - 7:57 AMThree things, if things are in sets they count as one? and my cats are safe? no worries about them right? oki doki
1) My CD's
2) My Guitars
3) A painting my Mom gave me. She painted it, there are no other copies or prints. It can not be replaced.

Re: If......
Fri, March 17, 2006 - 8:04 AM1. My lockbox with legal documents inside.
2. My computer.
3. My purse.
I guess the first thing would most likely have to be clothes. I fear that if my house did burn down, it would be at night and I would have to jump out of the 2nd story window naked!

Re: If......
Fri, March 17, 2006 - 8:10 AMEasy!
Pete!!! (wait, he thinks he's a people so let's just assume we got him out)
1.photos - the lot of em, since they're all together
2. FEESHIES!!! (and spike the turtle)
3.
wow, maybe this IS tough. I'd love to rescue my really old books and the toybox that my grandfather, dad, uncle and I made when I was young, but because it's a fire, would I have time? These items are priceless to me. Everything aside from the animals and the above items is replacable. Oh and my banklet. Banklet and I have been together since birth and though I don't actually NEED it, I love the thing and want to pass it down to my wee ones

Re: If......
Fri, March 17, 2006 - 4:16 PMin all honesty, i would be so busy making sure the living things got out that i wouldn't focus on the stuff. besides, i'm a taurus and i'm too materialistic. i wouldn't be able to choose and i'd probably die in the fire trying to decide. so i suppose i'd just chuck it all and start over with the insurance money ('cuz of COURSE we're covered).....
but hey, i might grab my purse and car keys. they're always right by the door, so they'd be easy to grab. and all that soot and smoke and the firefighters would probably get me really hungry, so i'd need some cash to buy like, some crispy fish tacos from del taco or something.

Re: If......
Fri, March 17, 2006 - 4:18 PMWell if animals are not considered as people of course all three of them otherwise.
1.My big file cabinet not because I am attached to any of it but just to save the headache of replacing important documents and taxes and such.
2. Our Passports
3. box of photos

Re: If......
Mon, March 20, 2006 - 8:25 PMAs long as my animals are safe...otherwise they are the 3 things I'm grabbing! If they are fine, then....
1. box of photos (I have a wood crate full of all my photo albums.)
2. laptop (it has the rest of my photos on it and all my banking/credit card info)
3.
I have no idea what the last thing would be. The most important things are my animals, Dearric and my photo albums. -

Re: If......
Tue, March 21, 2006 - 5:43 AMI can't believe I forgot the photos!!! THE PHOTOS!!!
I change my mind, my mala beads are broken so I will no longer need those, I want all of our damn photos!!!!
I can't believe I didn't think of those...I was so in the moment that day AND at work, so maybe I was thinking what I would take should our building go aflame??? =)

Re: If......
Tue, March 21, 2006 - 3:58 PMsince we are assuming animals are safe:
1. my trunk of photos (assuming i actually have super-human strength and can lift it)
2. my cameras
3. my scrapbook
although, when my furnace actually caught on fire almost a year ago, i grabbed none of these things. i got my animals out and then stayed out...so maybe i wouldnt grab anything at all. -

Re: If......
Fri, March 24, 2006 - 6:52 PMBut now that I think of it, I have photos and albums everywhere! I think it would be nice to scan all my photos, burn them on a cd and give a copy to a few family members as a backup. They can always be reprinted. There's a nice weekend project for ya! -

Re: If......
Fri, March 24, 2006 - 10:23 PMactually, if you're serious about that, upload them to one of the zillions of websites that allow you to maintain a free online photo album that is accessible to anyone you send an invite to. they're cool, and if you get that proverbial house fire or computer-crash..... at least you've still got your pictures! -
-
Re: If......
Sat, March 25, 2006 - 7:52 AMyeah...but if you do that, you lose the quality of the pictures because the site doesnt allow large sized pictures. your actual best way to save them is to put them on a flash drive. even cd's can scratch or become corrupt...a flash drive is the best way right now.
