Here to whine... and get some advice

First, the whining. I MISS YOU GUYS! Y'all and the whole Dallas bellydance scene. :( <SIGH> Alas, now that I have the time and money after the wedding to get back to it, I have moved to bellydance no-woman's-land.

What's a girl to do? Seriously. I'm dying to dance and perform again, but how do I go about that virtually on my own? Any advice would be appreciated. :) (Then hopefully one day soon hubby and I'll get our azzes back down to Texas!)

Oooh, that's a tough one! My homie, Udit would probably have some good advice on this dilemma....my advice would be just get all the videos you can for drilling and dancing to satisfy your bellydance withdrawals. I think if I were in your situation I would miss the camaraderie with my dance pals the most and that would not be easily satisfied with cyber-dancers and videos. There has to be something within driving distance so that you could get an occasional fix?? Even a 4 or 5 hr drive every couple of months to see a show or take a class might have to make it's way into the budget if it were me.
Congrats on the wedding! We miss you and I sure hope you find a way to keep dancing!

Oh, that's right-- Udit kinda went through the same thing, didn't she?

Thanks for the advice, Katy! I'll see what's going on in the vicinity. I know KC is about 5 hours away... I'd like to figure out how to get some kind of local hafla going, too. There are a few dancers in the area, but no performance opportunities.
