My best friend and the dirty guys

This is my best friend, former dance student, and god-mother to my son. She passed away last year of multiple myeloma. I loved her dearly and I miss her. She is here with her granddaughter and the dirty guys from the SCA. Just thought you might like to see it!

After three years of training and performing, I was asked by my troupe, the Neighbourhood Strays, to teach a Beginners Class. This is a group of my students and me (centre) at our student hafla. I was thrilled to have helped these ladies learn to love belly dance as much as I do.

Our troupe, the Neighbourhood Strays, performs every summer at a local dance festival in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. It is one of the highlights of our summer. The wind gave me a little trouble, but I won in the end!
