do any of you take your projects on the road with you so you can work on your dance stuff while travelling? What do you carry in them?

No way. I never have time. Since I always have to travel far and keep track of my troupe, my schedule is tight. I do however see ladies carry their projects in a wheeled suitcase!

I've just started crocheting hip shawls - work on them while sitting-waiting-sitting-waiting during youngest kidlet's cheerleading competitions...
I take hand sewing projects when we visit my Mom & Dad - it's nice when she helps out ;-)

I have small collection of canvas bags - nothing fancy, but they work well.

i take mine if it's feasible, like to my parents... or if I'm staying somewhere else where i can keep stuff away from the critters, who love to get into my things and wreck havoc if possible ;)

I used to take veils to edge and put the beads in small containers I got from the Chinese takeaway

sheesh..travel projects. Sometimes they are as much luggage as the rest of my stuff. I hardly ever get to work on them when traveling, but hope springs eternal!

I do take my projects with me when I travel and at times that is alot. What I carry them in depends on the project and how accessible I need all the items. If it's a smaller crocheting or knitting project, I carry it in a sealed gallon baggie with a corner snipped off. It keeps everything together and "unwanteds" out. I always carry a bag of some kind with me so I will carry a small tote with smaller cartons inside if I'm working on a beading project. A sewing project will be in a baggie or in a tote or both. Unless a large project can be broken down into smaller pieces I won't take it with me.
