Re: Make-up for mature women of ALL skin shades.
Wed, May 31, 2006 - 4:23 PMMy everyday makeup (foundation--I assume that's what you are talking about) is Prescriptives. It matches me the best. For summer, I wear mostly Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in the oilfree formula. I am going to try Revlon color stay active makeup because they say it's sweatproof.
Everything else.....I'm really partial to Bobbi Brown eyshadows because they don't crease on me, but I wear everything from MAC to Revlon to Wet n' Wild......anything goes for me.

Wed, May 31, 2006 - 9:23 PMI dont wear makeup 99% of the time....but when I do (for dance) I wear almost a theatrical color scheme since I wash out in light (fair) and I carry all my makeup in a tool box. My husband thinks it should be in a snap on rolll around, but its just a hand carry model

Wed, May 31, 2006 - 5:52 PMI've worn Cover Girl for years - have been using the Aqua Smooth for about 2-3 years now because it gives more coverage. It holds up in the heat pretty well, but I don't know how it would hold up to dancing outside in 99deg heat with mega-sweat.
Other than that, I also run the gamut from MAC to Wet-n-Wild.

Re: Make-up for mature women of ALL skin shades.
Thu, June 1, 2006 - 3:36 AMLauren Hutton has a line of makeup especially designed for mature women. I have the Face Disk. It is the best makeup I've ever used as of yet. It gives you a smooth, flawless look without the appearance of having any makeup on .. It actually makes you look younger! You can take a look at it here: www.interwood.com/a/p/LHsite/home.shtml
I also like to use Bare Essentuals. This makeup does some pretty spectacular things for your complexion - again, without looking like you have makeup on.

Both these products are perfect for older women, but younger women also benefit from the clever technology that goes into creating these products. No, they're not cheap but I found them to be reasonable for what your getting. And as a professional entertainer, I find these products are something I cannot do without. -

Sun, June 4, 2006 - 10:40 AMAAAAHHHHHH
Lauren Hutton!?! Now you've done it }}
All my collections of this & that will be boxed & sent away........
I do have boxes of stuff I do not use; some I have not even opened! Bcz of the colors, Colors, & glitters, & textures, & fun! that there is now. All the stuff that I wanted in the 60s is available now & I succumb to it. But when I try to 'make up' my eyes as I did or would have I just don't have the same joie de vie or playfullness to accomodate my aged skin *~*
But I am also in a aggie conservative area; not like being in a city where more people play creatively with their looks......

Sun, June 4, 2006 - 10:59 AMohH what A Woman! Thanks for the link}
Before I knocked out my front teeth & had to wear a partial, my teeth were split also & she made me feel more confident about them especially when people would ask silly questions like "can you spit between them?" or "do you whistle between them?"
The lab that made the $$$ partial, though directed by my dentist not to, closed up the split & I accepted it to get 'real teeth' in.....
I think I'm going to get a new partial with my own look back & hope I get some of her macha ;;} -

Re: Make-up for mature women of ALL skin shades.
Tue, June 6, 2006 - 3:40 PMFor everyday and work wear, I use Benefit concealor, Stilla foundation, Stilla Convertible Color creme blush, Stilla compact powder, and Benefit Bad Gal mascara. When I need more coverage I use MAC. I also have two really great powder blushes - NARS Sin and Orgasm. I like them because they are pretty sheer and they have a nice shimmer to them. I'm all about deflecting the light away from my face! -
