"S" (bless her heart) has touched on a very good subject..or bad..diets
Diets are not a good thing. They shift the responsibility from the eater to the diet...
Since most of us are getting a wee bit older, have you noticed that for every piece of pie we stuff into our faces it takes more miles in our walks to work it off?
There are many solutions to this problem. Here is what I have learned..feel free to add your tricks
Eat the filling and leave the crust. .
Eat less, drink more water
Hike or take long walks 3 times a week
Look in the mirror naked.. Use two mirrors to see just how much you jiggle in the butt ;-) Do you like what you see? Few do. Why? It is in your power to change what you can and leave the rest (gravity) for prosperity
Keep your chest, waist and hip measurement in proportion..this is needed for a healthy heart. At a certain point a waist that is too large (guidelines say over 32 inches) will negatively affect your heart, so eat in moderation and instead of using a scale, use a tape measure
KILL YOUR SCALES!
LOVE what you are eating
Be totally honest with yourself..after all who are you kidding?

As one who has had ups and down with weight (up now), and who has been involved with WW, scales are good for the week to week check on progress and not, several times a day! Weight can fluctuate (and trust me, it certainly does) on a daily basis, even during the day (I find myself sometimes weighing less at about 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon than in the morning). Also, another good point is using a tape measure. Weight loss (or gain) may not always be reflected on the scale, but will be reflected by body measurements.

working in non invasive cardiology, I love reading the clinical studies on the effects of different diets. Green tea. I personally drink a ton green tea....and I eat whatever I want. Studies show that green tea reduces stomach fat. All that water we drink maybe very good for our skin to hydrate us(very much still necessary)....but has little to do with weight reduction. So you may indeed be flushing out your system and hydrating to a beautiful complextion...but it won't aid in weight reduction. Green tea....its a good thing Martha.
