Transition between songs, help!

Hi!

I dance for a local band and I'd like some suggestions for what I should do in the time between songs. In the past I'd just hold a pose while the band said a few words or set-up quickly for a different song.

It's not a long period of time; but it's long enough to be awkward (not enough time for me to leave the stage and come back.) They'll usually just start right into a song and then say a few words right after that first song... so that's when it's most awkward.

Any suggestions would be extremely helpful. THANKS!!

I've seen dancers merge back into the band...stand with a hand on one of the members of the bands shoulder...pose next to the drums....turn with your back to sudiance...that way the focus is back to the band for a moment. It is respectful and shares the attention with the other artists.

All good advice, but I wouldn't touch the musicians, really. Hands off is best (esp. if they're not American).

Also keep in mind posing for longer than a few seconds is gonna look weird, and bands sometimes fart around longer than they shoudl between songs. Hopefully they know your set well enough to just go from one song to the next by now.
Honestly, I wouldn't treat it like a big deal; fix your hair or costume if you need to, say hi to someone in the audience if you know them.

I just usually relax smile and may be speak to some but I stay in posture --- I do not loose that but it is relaxed. I usually do not adjust my costume unless I step off to the side. I may even do something silly. Just relax and have fun with entertaining but keep the dance posture....I bet it seems a lot longer to you than it really is and the crowd will be impressed with you being comfortable with just being there....

Also...if I know they will need to change up instruments then I will do a fun exit at the end of a song and step off to the side to grab a sip of water or adjust something then enter when they begin.
