Hi,

this is the first time I have posted a solo video. I would really love to have some feedback.
I have 2 versions, filmed from different angles, one video was edited.

Edited version (this is my favourite version):
nl.youtube.com/watch

Unedited version, different angle:
nl.youtube.com/watch

It was the first time I made a complete choreo to a song. I'm more an improviser, you know... ;o)

Thanks in advance for leaving me feedback!

Hmmm, watched it several times. Your snake are delicious, technique is very clear. Music interpretation spot on~ like how you played with the melody, then moved over to percussion. I am not a tribal dancer, but I would like to see more emotion coming through your facial expressions and intent of hand movement & position. If it's joy~ then smile, if it's dark~ perhaps scowl, if it's sadness~ melt into the movement, if it'sensual~ make it juicy. Then nail the ending (the last note of the song). Over all, Good Job.

Well, I am not a Tribal Fusion gal, so take these comments with a grain o' salt. :)

As mentioned, your snake arms are just lovely. nice, clean lines and well executed with the Down Vertical 8s. Your technique looks mostly very good. You might want to isolate the chest square just a bit more- especially on the lift. Make sure when your arms are in the 'up' postition, they stay there. :) I did want to see a more facial action going on- engage your audience, even if it's just a camera!

Choreographically, perhaps change the angle of your shoulder isolations at 1.50- I could see your front shoulder, but not the back one.

All in all, this was pleasing to watch- thanks for posting, and congrats on your first 'out there' solo! w00t!

...the only this I would say is your arms were a bit weak in the beginning. Holding them stronger and engaging your shoulder blades help enormously with that. I am a stickler for arms tho...they are the first thing I notice on another dancer. I also second the change of angle for the shoulder isolation bit. I liked it and I figured what you were doing but I could not really see it. Other than that is was a good choreography, especially for the first time. Well done! :)

      Thank you for the feedback!
I know I really have to work on my arms and shoulders, they tend to 'slouch'.
And facial expression... I have just spent the last half year trying to learn myself to smile during dancing. I stil have a lot of work. :o)

Thank you again for your feedback ladies!

I really like the way you've worked in ATS movements in the choreography. Your arm undulations with the mya are beautiful and fluid. At the 1:30 mark you are doing some rib and hip circles and perhaps you arms could be in a different position to frame these movements (similar to what you did at the 25 second mark)?

Posting videos for feedback is tough and way to go for sharing it with us! I look forward to seeing more from you in the future. :-)

As a tribal fusion dancer myself, I absolutely loved your performance! I love watching ATS, and I loved your interpretation. I would have to say my only gripes are the arms could be stronger, and more facial expression. Loved your costume, and music selection :)

Dance like there is no tomorrow :)
