Hey, this is overdue. There are more and more German dancers to be seen on youtube. By German I mean: living and working in Germany. I'll start - but this evening, don't have time now.

Sun, March 30, 2008 - 2:39 AMOk I start with Nabila Sabha from Berlin. Half jordanian but talks like a Berlin girl (which is sooo funny). She just had her 20 years on stage-anniversary. Would be also an address for you, Atisheh!

Sun, March 30, 2008 - 1:33 PMSaid el Amir, I happened to discuss silk veil dance today, so:

He calls his style "jomdance", "jom" meaning: jazz-oriental-modern. He offers studies to become a professional stage dancer. He also travelled several times to the U.S., I believe he worked with Jill Parker and Urban Gypsy among others. -

Mon, March 31, 2008 - 6:53 AMSchachloh, a dancer from Uzbekistan. She has been trained in a sovietic folklore state ensemble. She does bellydance, too, but her specialty are dances from the silk road. She lives in Bremen. She has two clips doing persian dances:

Here Schachloh is performing Indian dance in an encounter with belly- + tribal-fusion dancer Nadine Fernández, who is also Bremen-based.

Wed, April 2, 2008 - 12:48 PMHey Emily, thanks for adding to the list. Yes, there are many more. Reyhan being my absolute favourite...So I will continue:
if Enussah was your teacher, here is mine:
Shammadan, living in Hamburg. She started off with Momo Kadous when she was 16.

Then dancer Fatima Serin from Turkey. Here a classic with the Abu-Hassan band:

She is the host of the april Merhaba dance festival in Saarbrücken (which I didn't announce because it was rather small).
Then Naheda, also a Turkish woman. Very energetic and creative in her modern performance:

She is a regular guest at the Rakkasah-festival in the USA.
And, not to forget: Ahmed Fekry lives near Cologne...
