well, it went well!!!

the workshops with Orit were amazing. really, she is someone you SHOULD take a workshop from if you can. Her workshops are not about "new moves" but all about interpreting the music, understanding the music and the culture. it was interesting, boggling at times, hearth breaking, beautifull and bloody HARD. you need to reach inside and dance with all you are and have, not just do the steps. and even after sooo many years of training, that is and will always remain the hardest AND most important thing.

it's hard to keep practicing when she's on the stage teaching as you just want to sit down mouth wide open watching her.

the workshops were filmed and will be available on dvd, i'm sure going to buy the tarab and the baladi one! (www.stellardadvantage.net, but i guess it will be a while when they are available, i'll post when they are!)

the shows: OMG!!! so many talented dancers from all over the US, and so many i already knew in the virtual world, that was rather funny. i was really scared about my choice of music/song/style, and i was doing pretty "american"' style stuff as that's what i have been working on lately... and of course there was a lot of that style in the show (duh!!!).. there was a LOT of veil as well..

BUT: it went very well!!! i even got a small applaus for my float and my "artemisia style" veil tricks went down very well. People said they could see the Aziza inspiration, but also a lot of me. and that my veil work was very inovative. what a relief!!!

i had a very usefull private lesson with Aziza, and some very very usefull private feedback to my solo from Orit.

after that: cocktails, sea world and miami south beach with my boyfriend, so a succesfull holiday, and LOTS of inspiration for my own dance work, for my classes and my troupe!!
