... before posting stuff that isn't related.
There are TONS of bellydance tribes on Tribe.net, but this one has a pretty specific purpose that is stated in the description above. I am seeing a LOT of stuff that has nothing to do with the names of bellydance movements.

Re: Read description of this tribe...
Tue, October 28, 2008 - 12:08 PMok, I will be diligent in NOT posting anything that doesn't have a bellydance move in it. Mayas. Arabics, Egyptian Twists.
Rules are clear to me now. ...thanks Yalizan!

Tue, October 28, 2008 - 12:23 PMSorry Etta, I wasn't directing that specifically at you. :)
I'm just seeing a lot of stuff creeping into this tribe that I didn't sign up to read. And I'm not Jamil, so what I say means squat, really. :))) -

Re: Read description of this tribe...
Tue, October 28, 2008 - 1:50 PMSure! When I read back over my first message, I realize it sounded rather rude. I really meant it in jest. I hope I didn't offend anyone!
3/4 shimmy ;-)

Re: Read description of this tribe...
Fri, July 10, 2009 - 11:06 AMIs wanting to learn new movements really that different from getting the names of movements figured out? -

Re: Read description of this tribe...
Tue, August 4, 2009 - 7:58 AMSame here.. I came to this tribe from a very different angle.. heard someone talk about the "duck walk" and somehow found this tribe entry when searching for that name.
Now I dont care for the NAME but for the mechanics. I would way more like to LEARN HOW they movement is done than agree on a name.. is that not under this tribe? the two are so closely connected I'd not see why to separate them!

Re: Read description of this tribe...
Sun, August 23, 2009 - 8:52 AMThere are a gazillion tribes here on tribe to discuss/ask questions about movement, and really, I don't recommend trying to learn bellydance on a text-based tribe. :)))
Jamil set this tribe up specifically as a place to figure out where a "maya" an "Up and Over" and "Reverse Taxim" could be called out as being the same movement so that all flavours of bellydancer (because we all taste SWeeeet! ;-))) would have common ground when discussing bellydance. All I am asking is for people to respect the list creator's wishes. If Jamil decides to change the mandate of the tribe, so be it. :)

Re: Read description of this tribe...
Mon, August 24, 2009 - 7:27 AMMaybe Jamil could change the name to "Bellydance Movement Names" so the purpose for the tribe would be more clear - adding one little word to the title would take care of the tribe description -
