I'm trying to find some music to dance with my ball python to. I'm typically a cabaret dancer but am learning tribal so that he and I can dance together. Since I'm fairly new to the tribal scene I'm not as familiar with the music. Any suggestions for some songs I could try out?

Sun, June 21, 2009 - 10:57 PMJust curious as to why you need to learn Tribal to dance with your snake. You can use the Cab. style with a vintage Cab. look, if you don't want the whole beaded bedla thing.
Any slow music works great. Some old Bros. of the Baladi have some Nay pieces. In fact anything slow and dramatic for sword works well with serpents. I personally like Ney/Nay, Mizmar/Zurna. any of the wind instrument really. with drums or not.

Wed, July 1, 2009 - 5:36 AMYeah, I agree with going for a vintage Cab look as another possiblity, that would be very neat.
Thought tribal could be a neat option too. Example: if you decide to put your hair in a turban and then (if the snake isn't too big.) Have him get comfy curled up on top of it for the start of the dance. That could look really cool.
For music I would either suggest Solace if you want to go the tribal route. In particular their song Circle could work. For a vintage Cab dance I would go with Natacha Atlas, she's got some nice stuff, her cover of 'I Put a Spell On You' might just work nice with a snake now that I think about it. -

For Tribal music I've seen it often suggested to check out the Fatchance Belly Dance website, because they have suggestions for tribal music along with descriptions and suggestions for each song. That might be helpful.
