Hi, All--
Is there a DVD out there about ways in which to utilize a sword?
ALSO-where is a good place to get a good sword? Or is a scimitar better? (Aren't they different?)
thanks,
ZD

Re: Swords? DVDs?
Wed, July 22, 2009 - 7:21 AMI know that there are several sword videos available. While I haven't seen it, I've heard that: Sword Stylization with Belladonna is very good.

As far as WHERE to get swords...... I personally LOVE Kult of Athena. Good prices, fast shipment, quality swords. What more can a girl ask for?

Re: Swords? DVDs?
Thu, July 23, 2009 - 6:14 AMIt's personal choice, I have two Baladi Scimtars and a lion's head sword, the scimtars are quite heavy and take a bit more muscle training, they are however quite easy to balance as they are curved and you can really feel where they are. They also look a bit more "dangerous" and less pretty which appeals to some of us. The Lion's head is a good place to begin and can be balanced in the scabbard until you feel confidant enough to balance it alone.
Both suggestions for DVD and the Kult of Athena are good ones. The website prices are surprisingly good and you will have your sword at your door in just a few days. Hope this helps? Look up Sabine's sword videos on Youtube too, she's a very classy sword artist and isdazzling to watch.
take care.

Re: Swords? DVDs?
Fri, October 9, 2009 - 7:19 PMI have two of the balady scimitars from Kult of Athena. I'm thinking of selling one of them because I'm satisfied to dance with only one sword. One of these days I'll spring for the similar-looking CAS Iberia.
