I'm wondering if anyone has tried making their own Isis Wings? Just curious as to how the project came out - was it worth the effort?
Thanks,

Re: Has anyone tried making their own ...
Wed, November 26, 2008 - 10:21 AMOh boy. Yes. If you don't mind NOT having the pleats, it's not so bad. If you want the wings to fold down into pleats, you're in for a world-o-hurt. You really need an industrial pleating machine. I spent days ironing pleats into my fabric, only to have the pleats not really retain their shape after a few months. Maybe others have suggestions on keeping the pleats together? Lame works pretty well (its what most wings are made of anyway). I tried organza. The wings still look good, but they aren't pleated. My husband got me a pair on ebay for pretty cheap and they are wonderful! -
