Oh boy. Yes. If you don't mind NOT having the pleats, it's not so bad. If you want the wings to fold down into pleats, you're in for a world-o-hurt. You really need an industrial pleating machine. I spent days ironing pleats into my fabric, only to have the pleats not really retain their shape after a few months. Maybe others have suggestions on keeping the pleats together? Lame works pretty well (its what most wings are made of anyway). I tried organza. The wings still look good, but they aren't pleated. My husband got me a pair on ebay for pretty cheap and they are wonderful!

I think it was on the DIY tribe (although I cannot find the post at the moment), someone posted a picture of batwing isis wings that she made. If you can find the post, they were beautiful......
