I'm new here and am wondering if anyone has bought from Peacock Moons and if it was good, bad, or indifferent? The student "troupe" I belong to may be ordering 25 yards skirts from them.

Thu, April 24, 2008 - 3:33 PMHmmm. I have never seen this site before. But looking at it I do recognize many of the photos are also used by vendors on Ebay as well as by some here on Tribe. Maybe they are stock photos? I've dealt with Wendy Oliver (here on Tribe at people.tribe.net/87fa2f5a-...fb75a09b4) who uses the same photos & sells many of what appears to be the same items for about the same cost. Maybe she is a distributer? I bought a 25 yard skirt from her & just love it. She is super nice. You might want to contact her or check out her Ebay store.

Tue, May 13, 2008 - 11:23 AMI went to find this place today on my lunch hour and it doesn't look promising. The building was one in a very old strip mall. The window and door were covered and the door locked, no sign or anything. The insurance business next door said she's sometimes there, lot of times not. I phoned and was amused when the recording said if one got the recording it was because they were on the phone or helping another customer. I left a message saying I'm actually sitting in front of the locked building and left my phone number. I'll keep the investigation going and will post updates if any occur.

Tue, May 13, 2008 - 2:25 PMNo,No,No - I looked thru at least Tribal Skirts, and Tribal pants, and 90% of those images were stolen from out Website 'Tribal Bazaar' not even disguised.
I looked for a email addy but the only way to contact them is with a phone #.
That really sucks - I don't know if they got them them from a 3rd party and thought they are stock or what. I'm going to try and contact them and ask they be removed. -

Wed, May 14, 2008 - 7:45 AMJoey just phoned me back. She said the office here in Wichita is just an office. When one orders items she'll order; I didn't ask who her supplier is. Pick up in Wichita can be done in person for a $5.00 fee (I guess for what she paid). She just has a few 25 yard skirts and a tribal bra in the office at the current time.

Thu, May 22, 2008 - 5:27 PMI happen to know this person. She started the business to offer a more affordable costuming option for bellydancers, as she is a bellydancer herself. It is a catalog-only business, so that is why you will not find a store front. She also owns another business, Daycare Furniture Direct. The photos do indeed come from the suppliers' catalogs, as one person accurately pointed out. A number of individuals selling on the Web do not have actual stores.
