Someone tipped me off so I checked out 'Peacock Moon' www.peacockmoons.com/page/pa...7783.htm
Almost the entire page of images was taken from our website www.Tribalbazaar.com
also so have many of the Tribal pant pics. i haven't even gone thru the whole site yet.
There is no email contact only a Phone #.
If they mistakenly thought they were stock photos, I can understand, but IF they stole the images, i hope they would be ethical enough to remove them.
(yes, we are going to start watermarking or locking our images, but we have hundreds and it will take some time.)

Re: Image stealing
Tue, May 13, 2008 - 5:07 PMGood luck Yasemin.
I have a program called thumbs that lets you watermark images in bulk. Not sure who put it out or how much it costs, but it works like a charm (when I remember to use it ). -

Re: Image stealing
Tue, May 13, 2008 - 5:48 PMI'd be interested in that, if it's not oo expensive it would be worth it in hours saved.
Do you know where i can get it? -

Tue, May 13, 2008 - 6:27 PMHi Yasemin..
If you have photoshop you should be able to watermark there. I have photoshop 7 and under filter there is digimark. Hope that helps.

stock photos
Wed, May 14, 2008 - 9:46 AMYah, they are photos of someone else's stock!
You can only get stock photos from the distributor, otherwise you should know that you are stealing. -

Re: stock photos
Wed, May 14, 2008 - 2:44 PM::snarfs her drink:: You said it, da Sage. Hard to not know that "right click/save as" is NOT image stealing.
Yas, do you stock those ruffly pants, though that look like the 25 yard skirt? -

Re: stock photos
Wed, May 14, 2008 - 3:21 PMI have one sample. I haven't decided whether to stock them or not.
I didn't relise they were going to do a production run. I had asked them to make some back in Jan. but I didn't commit to an exclusive. I wanted to test them out first.
I'm having some of my own prod. made so I don't want to get too many things. PM me if you want to talk further unless this is of interest to the list ;-)
You know, tho this is why it's not a good idea to use others' photos. Sometimes we have things that only ~look~ like what others have but we do special runs in a fit or fabric (like my pants.) -

Re: Image stealing
Sat, May 17, 2008 - 10:17 PMSomething to check if you find your photos on someone else's site is your web statisitics. This will let you know if they stold the image outright or if they are hotlinking it and also stealing your bandwith as well as your photos. If it's hotlinked there's a little trick you can use that a lot of henna artists I know use. It takes a little effort on your part but can be very worth it.
If someone is hotlinking to a picture on your site and using it as if it was theirs, simply rename the original picture, make sure to change the coding on your website to the new photo name as well, then put up a notice with the original photo name the same as the hotlinked picture with something along the lines of "This image has been stolden" or "Image used without owners permission"
This doesn't help if they saved your photos and uploaded them to their own site but outs those who are hotlinking photos without permission.
