For anyone that has both of them (Tribal Fusions 2 and Tribal LA), which one would you recommend? I would like to get both, but only have the money to get one of them right now.

but TF2 was what was in the case. Its good. not as good as the first one, but worth having for sure.

I personally would recommend tribal LA - I think live performances always come across better on film anyway, and lots of the performances are repeated on TF2 (Sonia & Colleen, Zoe & Liz, Sharon) or are ones that might be included on the forthcoming Babelesque DVD (at least when I saw them in the UK Kami performed to Saltillo as in the TF2 DVD, one of Sam's was what I saw in the show and Sonia & Colleen are bound to be on that DVD AGAIN!)

Tribal LA also has much better camera work - the TF2 one is all over the place (as I said in another tribe, at one point during their duet, the focus is on Colleen's hand for a good five seconds when her hand isn't actually doing anything!), and to be honest I think many of the dances aren't up to the usual standard that we expect from BDSS. Highlights are Fat Chance, Sharon, Liz Strong and Moria's dance to Solace, other than that I would have happily not bought this DVD, as I don't think it's their best. Enjoyed Tribal LA much more - that got me excited about Tribal BD again! Loved Zoe's dance to Milieu!

I think BDSS are focussing too much on putting out lots of DVDs - I've been waiting 4 years for a new live show DVD and now they release a stack of DVDs with lots of the same performances on. It's like waiting for a bus and having 4 come at once! I wish they would concentrate more on not cancelling shows and events than putting out loads of DVDs. And don't get me started on their poor customer service - If I were you I'd order from Amazon! Got my TF2 DVD from Amazon seller in US, it was with me in a week. Tribal LA took over a month to get to me from BDSS, and it only came after I emailed them to tell them I was fed up of waiting. Others on the BDSS tribe haven't been so lucky as to even get their DVD so I wouldn't take the risk anymore!

Hope that helps you make your decision!

does tribal LA have the crazy bdss editing?
I like the fact that they put out dvds....though I feel like they put out more tribal stuff and not much cabaret...

I hope the babelesque dvd doesn't make me dizzy with the editing...sigh

Actually i thought the camera editing on the Tribal LA DVD was incredible compared to BDSS standards! Not too much focusing on unnecessary parts of the body - it was bellydance bliss compared to TF2! I really wish they'd put a dancers cut on, even if the one on TF1 made everyone look pocket sized, at least you could see what they were doing!

I personally would also like to see more cabaret - I'm a tribal girl and I love the stuff but I think there is possibly too many tribal dvd's out at the moment and would love to have a full on cabaret DVD - as I think the BDSS show on the Babelesque tour was dominant in Cabaret style anyway, I think that will satisfy my craving!

I like that they put out DVDs too, but I wish they would stagger the releases so that they don't get overlaps with performances - I've only seen a couple of the performances on TF1 in a live performance setting (in person or on youtube) for example (Sharon's kitty meiow dance, Zoe's Flux information Sciences/Beats Antique dance), whereas the DVDs of TF2 & Tribal LA overlap which I think is a shame. I don't mind a couple being repeated, but there were too many for my money's worth.

Thanks for all the info, Alexis! I always order DVDs from Amazon (or Chapters, if they have them, as I am in Canada) and not BDSS, so I shouldn't have any problems there!

If anyone else wants to weigh in on this one, too, I'd welcome the comments - it will likely be a couple weeks still until I order!
