I have this DVD. It's quite good for beginners.

I just bought this one recently for my drum library for students. Once every two months we have a dvd night where I get students to sit and watch a dvd and they study the technique of the percussionist and they really loved it.

I am way more advanced than what is on the dvd as I play and alternate between two different techniques (Egyptian and Split Fingered), but if you're not an advanced percussionist I'd recommend it. Even if you're intermediate, I'd still recommend it for the exercises and as a 'percussion playmate'.

His style is effortless (and his smile is gorgeous, lol). It's very easy to understand and follow.

I actually received this DVD for Christmas! For me, since I'm primarily a dancer, it is really helpful. I like how he presented the rhythms in several different ways, so that I can more easily recognize them in songs. Thanks for the recommendations!
