Re: ???
Sat, April 28, 2007 - 7:38 AMHi Eric,
Unfortunately nothing much happening in here :(
I am way too busy with performances these days and am hoping that someone can take over this group and make it jump.
We've almost finished making our first cd though and hopefully I'll then have more time!

Sat, April 28, 2007 - 7:44 AMWell, for myself, ive been drumming with some friends and dancers once a month at a nice little local cafe, its a no pressure atmosphere and is very supportive, so its helped a great deal to just get out and get my hands on the drum with others, as a visual learner, it helps me a great deal to see and hear as i play.
I Still have alot to learn, but it feels really good to be touching my drum and hearing nice sound...its all the fills and frills that stump me....i just came across this great tribe, and happy i did. -

Yes indeed it is wonderful, and quite supportive of one another. its usually from 7 to 10 pm and ive noticed in my own playing that after a good hour or so of playing, i begin to feel my drum differently, its like a closer bond or connection to the rhythms. its a great feeling, so i just go with it and try to remain on beat and rhythm.... funny how it works like that..im happy i found this tribe, it looks like a really interesting one to share and get to know other drummers of all levels... -

Re: ???
Sat, April 28, 2007 - 5:37 PMi just hope that one day all the fills and frills will come into my playing.. it will certainly make it more interesting....VERY slowly the interest in Middle Eastern Drumming is growing in town. and its like a breath of fresh air.....i only wish teachers wherent so hard to come by or so far away.. DVds are great, but seeing it and having another hear it makes all the difference in the world.... -

Sat, April 28, 2007 - 5:45 PMYou're on the right track. Just keep playing, and all of the additional nuances will make themselves available in your playing. -
