I'm wondering if anyone knows the translation to this song by Feruza Jumaniyozova
www.youtube.com/watch
it looks like it's Uzbek, not Turkish or Arabic, which might be why im having such a hard time find the translation.
the untranslated lyrics: Yalla yalla habibi, nechun bugun kozlaring zabunli? So'nma jonim men bormanku, bolma azal tunlarga asiri Yalla Habibi, yalla yalla habibi, nechun bugun hayoling hazonli TOnma jonim, men bormanku, bolma azal tunlarga asiri Osmondagi oyman, Dengizdagi gulman nasib etgan havasli muhabbating menman Hayajoning bolsa, hayolingda nelar? Sarson bolma, haqiqiy vafodoring menman Omon omon yor bolgin omon yor, Menga keraksan sog va bahtli holda Omon omon yor bolgin omon yor, Menga avzalsan meni sevgan holda Yalla Habibi, yalla yalla habibi, zor hayoting bolsin oh mazmunli Senga shunday yor bolayin, yonimda bol betakror toleyli Osmondagi oyman, Dengizdagi gulman nasib etgan havasli muhabbating menman Hayajoning bilsa, hayolingda nelar? Sarson bolma, haqiqiy vafodoring menman Omon omon yor bolgin omon yor, Menga keraksan sog va bahtli holda Omon omon yor bolgin omon yor, Menga avzalsan meni sevgan holda

hmmmmm....that looks almost like Turkish but it isn't. I alway thought, they speak Russian. Anyway, I believe, my colleague, a teacher for Russian, is from there, and I have her email address somewhere, so I will ask her, if noone else can translate this. No, it is definitely neither Russian nor Arabic. Uzbek is a Turkic language, I checked it.

It is the same link that I posted.
Anyway, I think, I found her right address and sent it off, let's see if I get soem response.
It seems to me that this is probably nothing more than a translation from Arabic pops, so if you got the original translaton of Yalla Habibi from Arabic, it might be the same.

Meanwhile I met my friend from Uzbekistan, and sorry, she said, they only spoke Russian when she grew up there and she does not understand the Uzbek language. I guess, that language has been revived after the fall of the USSR.

thanks for the try though. ^_^
on the plus side, it looks like no one in the audience would know what it means either ^_~ (ill keep this one in my own listen to file, not the performance one though.)
          thanks Astrid.
