Basbousa

A cute song about a woman telling a man that he is a spoilt baby that can't do anything right.
Basbousa is a sweet cake I think with coco (but maybe also exists without, I know the cocos version).
No transliteration, I would not want you to suffer from my idea of how the words I hear should look.

His granny made basbousa for him, with fat, sugar and honey.
so much honey, oh how sweet, so much honey he's melting in it.
His granny made basbousa for him, with fat, sugar and honey.
so much honey, oh how sweet, so much honey he's melting in it.
Granny is the best (e situ bes, situ or sit must be the word for granny)
Granny is the best
Granny is the best
He kisses his granny with fat, sugar and honey
His granny made basbousa for him, his mommy brought him water to drink
His granny made basbousa for him, his mommy brought him water to drink
he just hangs out and doesn't want to work
The end of things, without exaggerating
the end of things, without exaggerating
he didn't do well in school, now he doesn't even look for a job
you baby, you baby. You baby are unable
to wipe your sticky mouth.
Are you a man or a doll?
you baby, you baby. You baby are unable
to wipe your sticky mouth.
Are you a man or a doll?

Jillina danced to this song in the "Solos from Montecarlo" DVD. Maybe it sounds familiar because of that...

Oh, I checked, it is an Egyptian cake. Well, my friend had a housekeeper in Cairo who would support her whole family, including her grown son who never worked, apparently...

Basbousa is a cake made with semolina (cous cous or Cream of Wheat can be used), yogurt, citrus, honey and it is soaked in honey while it is still warm so the honey just drips all through it. Very dense and sticky. Yep, I could see some guy woofing down the basbousa instead going to look for a job.
