Hi - these aren't pull on, but I really recommend Capezio 'Pedini' dance shoes - they are so soft, they're two parts, the heel part and the toe part is joined by a (strong) strip of elastic which means that they give you total flexibility. The suede sole means you can swivel and turn to your heart's content.... I bought mine because the skin on my toes kept splitting because they were dry and didn't like turning on the spot and twisting. Since I got the Capezio shoes I've never looked back! Maybe try a local dance shop to try them and see?

        Best

If you are looking for flat shoes the Capezio pedeni's are excellent. Some of my girls wear ballet shoes, with a little peice of elastic across the front to keep them on. One of my dancers wear gymnastic shoes - but they are bright white and stand out a bit too much for my liking!

If we are out and about and dancing on a dodgy surface some of the Tribe of Kismet wear those little Tai Chi shoes with a buckle.

If you are looking for dance shoes with a heel I'd recommend anything by Supadance - they make ballroom and latin shoes and I have worn that brand throughout my 30 year dance career!

            Hope that helps

Sarah I get tendenitis quite readily in my achilles and wondered if the very small heel on those would help?

              What would you think?

The little heel on the Capezios might help - but obviously for ATS you wouldn't want to go higher than that! High heels are for the cabaret girls!

    Outdoor or indoor?

Outdoor you can get those Chinese fabric bar shoes and check that they have good grippy soles. We have them in plain black for ATS.
On ebay. In Liverpool and Manchester Chinese quarter.

Indoor practise...I er....er...cough cough ....own up to dancing in Totes old lady mini slippers...me mate reckons I've escaped from the nursing home...........
    Performance indoor sorry no help.
I hate all available options except pedraltas with lots of laces.
I'm a barefoot woman always in performance( and would be in practise where me feet not so bl**dy cold this wonter gone!)

Capulet world do a fab shoe for indoor use. Suede and net pull on's, fits snug to the foot. I think it's under jazz/street shoes on the following website and they are called Oka.

It doesnt matter what I dance on, my feet stick and I end up tearing the skin - ouch!

Well, what you need to do Lisa is what we used to do in my professional Latin American days:

To create good solid soles to our feet so that they didn't get sore we used to dab surgical spirit on the soles of our feet on a regular. This created a good layer of hard skin which actually protected our feet from damage! I still carry this legacy today and I nurture the hard skin as it does help prevent some of those ouch moments! Obviously I look after my feet, mousturise them and stuff, but I never remove all the hard skin.

It funny that when you watch dancers they look so beautiful - but when you look at their feet they can actually be pretty buggered up!!

Thanks Sarah thats good to know.

I nag my daughter about her feet (she dances) but take no heed to mine!

I was also thinking of getting some foot tape for those owie moments as I only really want to keep shoes for outside or ickky floors.

You are welcome. Tracey Gibbs uses them and I got the idea from her. Very comfortable :-)

I'm glad you asked this, because I need some shoes.
My problem is, I have very, very wide feet and no local dance supplies shop. My old ballet teacher used to wear the Freed Grecians to teach in, and I like the look of that style, like the Capezio pedini, but I'm wary that they might not be wide enough.
    Any thoughts or suggestions, anyone?
    Thanks....
