I am seriously thinking about getting a new back tattoo... in fact my tattoo artist is drawing it up as we speak! I'm so excited!! I think tattoed dancers look so beautiful. Anytime I watch an inked perfomance i get the bug soooo bad! My only issue is the expense, but you get over that really quickly.
Anyone else around here wanna share about their tattoo wants and desires? Anyone not yet taken the plunge who would like to but is too nervous? Anyone had a really good or really bad experience they wana share??

I still want my first tattoo...I have tons of ideas and I've talked to Kat Von D cause I wanted her to do some portraits. Tried to talk her into coming to Langley or Vancity but Calgary was the closest she came. *sigh*

I have skin issues that makes people think it will be hard to tattoo me.

I've been thinking about getting a tattoo for the last 5 years but I am too chicken still. It's a big step since it would be a permanent thing. I thought about a small butterfly or some kind of flower near the middle of my upper back or upper arm. I know these probably seem like boring ideas but to me they are significant because the butterfly means coming out my cocoon and the flower means blossoming into a better person.

Tattoo! Tattoo!! You know you wanna.... ;)

I have three. My first was small due to cost and nerves. A Leo symbol and sun combo I drew, placed over my heart (as my heart makes the majority of decisions for me). The second, a fairy on my lower back, is also small and should have been bigger, but too big and it would have looked odd. The third is an all black dragon on my leg, about 6"x3".
What 'they' say about them being addictive is Oh So True!!
I also want a Kat Von D tat of my little sister on my upper right arm. I am saving my pennies (and right now I mean pennies!) so it will be a while...
I would love a nice big back piece (I think Chris Garver should do it). The fairy will likely get moved, she shouldn't be too hard to cover with something else. I wasn't thinking when I put her in that prime location. Not sure what I want back there. Thinking some "tree of life" type idea with aspects of important life-things. I've got the winning lotto ticket in my purse... *fingers crossed*
Also... yes, there's more... I know I want a black-less tattoo. Some phrase or design in a deep red put whereever it looks best.
OH my... so little body space, so little money. Lol!

You are absolutely right Dorine; what matters is that they mean something to YOU! If they do then it doesn't matter what others think of them, or if they are a "common" design or not. If they have personal meaning they are also unregretable.

Just make sure you choose a registered artist with a sanitary shop who has a good reputation, does good work, and makes you feel comfortable.

So Skye... what's the pic gonna be?? where?? and why??

I am getting a garland of my wedding flowers across my lower back and winding around my hips. I am not going all the way to the front with it in the event I ever decide to have my own kids, but for now it will be 6 purple calla lillies and 2 birds of paradise, 3 & 1 on the left and same on the right. After that I have a piece of art Nouveau and another wedding emblem I designed that will prolly also go on my back. They all are very 1) original and 2) meaningful to me. I have never gotten a tattoo from a book or that I know somone else has. The first potential copy-able tattoo I will get will be the art nouveau piece... and i will defend it to the death! lol...

Amy, what is it about your skin that makes it difficult to tattoo?

Dorine... if you need a buddy to hold you hand, I will be the first to volunteer! My tattoo artist lives one block away from you... you could come with me and see it done if you'd like! ;)

The wedding flowers sounds really neat. I look forward to seeing the other designs too. If I ever decide to go through with it, then yes I'll call ya but I don't have enough courage yet or the $$ at this point. I just might take you up on your offer to see yours being done. Do they have lots of cozy cushions in case I pass out and drop to the floor? (Just kidding). I also know someone in Langley who does tattoos - She is very nice and did a good job on the one that I saw.
