Hi ladies - I'm new to this tribe. I have a little boy who's nearly 2.
I just came across this on youtube. I can't believe some of the stupid pissy comments people made - to me, this is what it's all about. Really wonderful. Makes me look forward to having my second (when the time comes) and continuing to dance for as long as I can!

Sat, September 30, 2006 - 4:00 PMI agree with you Miss P. I saw this video about two weeks ago and was just mesmerized, she truly looks beautiful. What is so amazing to me is her posture thru the performance as we all know how difficult it is to stand up straight at that stage of pregnancy nevermind dance and to readjust the posture to compensate when one is not used to doing so is quite a feat.
I just ignored the comments and hopefully the dancer did as well.

Fri, December 22, 2006 - 12:22 PMI had my third baby in August, and I taught and performed up until I went into labor. I personally think pregnancy is beautiful, and pregnant dancers are beautiful as well. Kudos to her!

Only sad thing is that she ended up having a stillborn :(
I LOVED being pregnant. My girl is now 3 and she is already balancing scabards on her head :)
People just need to open their eyes a bit more. Many people will have issues with just the exposed factor, but hey, thats what ignoring them is for :)

Mon, February 19, 2007 - 9:07 AMOh my gosh... how gorgeous! And how incredibly inspirational! Just found out I was pregnant with my third and at 42 years old, have been a bit hesitant to continue. No more! As stated in another response, this is truly what it is all about.

I think most people not familiar with bellydance don't realize it was created to emphasize what a woman experiences during pregnancy. It reminds other women of the child's movements, to keep your hips strong, and to breastfeed among other things. It's the childbirth dance!

Mon, June 18, 2007 - 1:37 PMI danced until I was six months...I stopped fitting into my costumes at that point, but continued for fitness. I only stopped my last two months because at 5'0" I was too big to barely stand...but boy I missed dancing! I think the dance was beautiful and it made me remember how incredible it felt to have my daughter dancing inside of me whenever I would shimmy!
