Since I am still recovering and healing from my cervial spine fusion, the storms and rain seems to make my neck hurt worse.

Re: Does the weather make you hurt worse?
Mon, February 18, 2008 - 8:45 AMheheh - "Scarneck..."
Hey guys, this is Shamsi - I don't have any disabilities, but I suffer from oodles of high-school sports injuries, primarily my knees and wrists. I can say that these poor aspects of my body do catch unmerciful heck from the weather...especially if the barometer drops...I can always tell when the barometer drops....I'm fairly certain it has to do with the amount of atmospheric pressure that is being placed upon our bodies and how our joints tend to respond to this added pressure. At least that's my "physics is as physics does" explanation on the matter. -

Re: Does the weather make you hurt worse?
Mon, February 18, 2008 - 9:53 AMYeah, me too. Cold weather and barometric pressure.
I guess maybe the cold is from less circulation? The body puts more blood flow to the core areas and away from arms and legs. -

Re: Does the weather make you hurt worse?
Mon, February 18, 2008 - 10:13 AMI'm happiest when it's at least 90 degrees. Cold is downright painful. Cool is uncomfortable. -

Re: Does the weather make you hurt worse?
Mon, February 25, 2008 - 11:24 AMThe barometric pressure and the cold are Killers! The past winter, it's taken a turn for the worse with me. I can't wait until summer. I took it easy in class for November when it first got real bad. (I love having an asistant) Then I got worse.
Then I got MAD that I was missing what I love to do. So I forced myself to deal with the added pain and did the full class anyway. Then I got better. So, now I know... If I hurt real bad, the worst thing I can do is take it easy.

Re: Does the weather make you hurt worse?
Mon, February 25, 2008 - 11:50 AMOh so much, I can tell you when it will rain better than the local weather man, I would happily trade that gift for a few (just a few!) Completly pain free days, I have forgotten what that is like. -

Re: Does the weather make you hurt worse?
Mon, March 10, 2008 - 10:04 AMDefinitely! That's why I moved to Australia! But even here we can have cold days, but never as bad as in Holland. Cold and rainy is the worst then I have much more joint and muscle pains. Hot weather is the best for me. Pity we have a lousy summer this year...

Re: Does the weather make you hurt worse?
Mon, March 24, 2008 - 8:46 PMHello, I was using icy/hot pain patches, but those left holes in my hips! Then I pop 2 vicodins before class, that is if I remember! The vicodin really does help and the pain patches helped too, but boy, it made me pop sweat all over even worse!
