Have you had to change your costume designs to dance more safely? Or do you wear different styles now due to your condition that are just more comfortable for you?

Thu, February 28, 2008 - 5:25 AMMy daughter Safiyyah likes the lace up gillies from Capezio, she says they stay on well and since she has little feeling in her feet that's a good thing. Also we have an upcoming show that she asked about wearing one of my old costumes. I told her Iknew exactly where it is and it would fit her. But she said she will wear the bra and belt with her Melodias because she does not want to trip over a skirt. So dance pants are better for her she feels less likeky to trip over them. -

Tue, March 4, 2008 - 8:50 PMI am searching for the perfect footwear for my diabetic feet. I have tried the hermes type sandals, but they rub me wrong, and I have a pair of the little bear claws but my feet tend to cramp when I wear them, I guess the support isnt enough or something. -

Mon, March 24, 2008 - 8:48 PMI bought a black pair of athletic shoes for white shoes looked weird wearing my melodia's pantss. I also wear my magnetic insoles from a company called Nikken, but buy those off ebay. I use to dance barefoot all the time, but need the shoes in case I get weak.

Re: Costumes
Fri, April 4, 2008 - 12:29 PMHi,
I don't know if this will help anyone or not but... I recently bought a really comfy pair of Mary Janes to wear to the Ren Fair & I just love them. I love them so much, I bought a pair for my daughter & my son's girlfriend. We have all worn them to dance in. Since they come in black, they look very good with tribal costumes. They have a rubber sole & a cushy insert with a strap over the top of the foot so they doesn't come off while dancing. I found them at Payless for about $25.00. Ours are all suede. The number on the box is 59145-11. The picture here in the link shows them with netting over the top though.
