...that watching Belly with my mother was indescribely meaningful for the two of us.
Aside from the joy of her pride, hearing her laugh at all the right parts, and feeling her respect and honor for what I do magnify minute by minute as the movie played; my mother has never known what my tattoo means.

Now she does. She knows each and every wound of my soul that was healed and aknowleged by my tattoo, and now because of what she knows she's healed too. I think that all of that guilt and fear and sorrow was the hole that has been keeping my mother from truly being whole and allowing herself to be truly happy.

I will never be able to say thank you the way I want to.
