Hi everybody
I just wanted to bring you the latest news with Bodhaia - it's all rather exciting!
First and foremost, I'm pleased to announce that we've teamed up with some amazing musicians. Cambridge-based Fruity Clave are a group of nine drummers and percussionists with an energetic and unique african-meets-samba sound. We'll next be performing with them on 2nd October, at The Man In The Moon in Cambridge. Secondly, I'm very happy to say we have a new dancer with us. Louise (yes, another one!) Matthews will be joining Sarah and me in dancing with Fruity Clave. That's not all though; you can catch us busking with them (mostly) every other weekend in the early afternoons in Cambridge city centre, around the market place. We move around over a couple of hours, but you should just be able to follow the sound of the drums! :)
There are other things happening, too:
We will be part of a three-hour bill in Leicestershire on 5th September at Swinford's Party On The Green. It's free to attend, and we'll be dancing all of our favourites - skirt, sword, and fire, all improvisational.
On Friday 25th September we will be performing as part of the FireWater show at the International Bellydance Congress in Frimley Green. You can find more details about tickets and the event on their website: www.bellydancecongress.com
Planet Egypt have invited us back! On Thursday 29th October you can see some of our brand new fusion material at Club Darbucka in London. More information at www.darbucka.com.
And there is more in the pipeline, such as a voo-doo themed bonfire night event at a pub in Leicester, dancing at the newly formed Shisha Lounge in Peterborough, and much more, but we're still firming up the details on those.
Have a good weekend, everybody!
Nicola
