Please, anyone who knows anything at all about burlesque in Halifax please reply. Like, what clubs offer it? How often do burlesque shows happen in Halifax? Are burlesque dancers there friendly or competitive and backstabbing? Are there any shops where burlesque type costuming can be find? Are there burlesque teachers that have ongoing classes or workshops?
Any info would be wonderful! Thank you!

Re: Burlesque in Halifax N.S Canada?
Sun, April 13, 2008 - 12:01 PMHi! I'm part of Pink Velvet Burlesque in Halifax. We tend to do shows every few months, but nothing on a regular schedule. I'm not sure if there are any other troupes up and running right now, but there have been before. I like to think our troupe is friendly, but as far as I know we're not accepting any new members. You can check us out at www.pinkvelvetburlesque.com or we also have a group on Facebook, we're also on MySpace at www.myspace.com/pvburlesque.
Miss C of our troupe has a shop called Pretty Things Boutique. It was formerly located in Junk and Foibles, but they closed, so I think she's in the process of moving. She's also on Facebook and might have a website too. She sells lots of cool pinup/burlesque/vintage-style stuff and makes fabulous pasties! (Pretty Titty Pasties is her brand.) I don't know of any classes, but I think Miss C is planning on offering some workshops in the future.
If you have any more questions, I'll do my best to answer. Oh, and my stage name is Kay Licious, btw. -
