Tribal Fest 6 was my first time ever attending a Tribal Fest. My wife Layla has attended the previous year for the first time and could not stop talking about it for almost a whole year! She concvinced me to go and it just so happened I had bought a new pro-sumer video camera a few days before the trip.
What you will see here is basically a home -movie -ish type documentary. There is alot of focus on my wife and her activities plus all of our friends from Eugene and of course Amar!
There are some great performance shots and close-ups, camera is a little shakey at times since I did not have a tri pod as of yet. The arms can get a bit tired! hehe....
Since then I have taken up videography as a profession as I have discovered I have quite a knack for it. I have been traveling around with my wife to various gigs capturing great dancers and having a great time at it! I have been getting contacted by various dancers asking about promotional videos and such! Let's see where it takes me!
Here is the link to Tribal Fest 06 / part 1. (covering Friday night only)

My coverage of Saturday and Sunday are still uploading (BIG FILE!)
Enjoy!

Thank you soooooooooo much for filming at Tribal Fest !! Sadly I was not able to make it this year : ( I was so sad that week .......But thanks to you I get a little taste of what I missed. Did you film all 3 days ? and did you happen to see Tirre Anne's Troupe Joweh perform ? I was in that troupe for like 8 years when I lived in California . Tirre Anne was my dance teacher.

Sun, November 26, 2006 - 4:02 PMHi Jeffe, thank you so much for posting these videos! I'm still going through them (during my 2-minute "(8+2)5 Procrastination Hack" breaks). I'm so glad I could share Princess Farhana's show with my husband! ;)
One piece of constructive criticism... Please tell me that this year you will bring a tripod....?

Re: Tribal Fest Home Movies
Tue, November 28, 2006 - 11:58 AMYa, that was very fun to capture on video. I left it unedited on purpose because it was so powerful. I remember getting chills at one point while I was sitting watching all these women so unified and having such a wonderful time.
I am lucky to have such a wonderful wife and be able to document her Guerilla Tribal jams! -

I have a question, does anyone know who the two girls are that perform about 39:30 into the first segment you uploaded, or who the other two girls are that dance with the katanas at the begining of the second segment? very curious about both groups. thanks a bunch! -
