Hari Bol!
I have a question. If someone is not living near a temple how does one become iniated if they need a temple president's seal of approval. I live in Baton Rouge and the nearest temple is New Orleans and that was destroyed. I am a disciple of Tamal Krishna Goswami.

At least you are on the right track. I see first you asked for tulsi seeds, then tulsi beads and now re-initiation.
Was Tamal Krishna Goswami in good standing when he got into the smash in Mayapura? It is hard to get initiated without living in a temple. Sometimes devotees only go to the temple until they get initiated when they live outside and then stop. But if you talk it over with the temple president and he gets permission from the local board of devotees or the GBC and you are sincere and following the four regs and chanting sixteen rounds it should work out somehow or other.
Good luck!

Re: Devotees not living near a temple
Fri, September 8, 2006 - 9:40 PMIf a bhakta develops an attraction for a particular guru, and there is an agreement regarding initiation, the guru will most likely suggest a location for meeting. The temple authority is there to give recommendation, but it's up to the guru to accept. If there is no temple authority, then it would be up to the guru to accept without. I'm assuming that you are referring to someone else...correct? If you are referring to yourself, in regards to Bramhinical, basically the same still applies. -
