I was at a Barnes and Noble a few days ago and saw a cool globe jigsaw puzzle. It looks like a globe, but the surface of it is like a world map jigsaw puzzle...
I went online to see if I could get details about that globe puzzle, and found this, which is kinda cool--there are more maps puzzles there.

Wed, February 13, 2008 - 12:28 PMBack in the 1990s, a street salesperson was selling a map of the subway of the size they use in the subway (read: huge). I bought it and had it box-mounted. It barely fit in my car, but it's pretty much the coolest thing ever. You could do the same with the subway map that they officially hand out (I think it's smaller than the dreadnought-sized platform version).

Fri, February 15, 2008 - 4:21 AMDo they live in NYC? Because the transit store (one is located in Grand Central Station) has cool items made out of NYC subway maps. If they like to travel, a guidebook to a place they've been thinking about going to (Lonely Planet has great guidebooks) is another good gift. Guidebooks usually have lots of neat maps. (I'm a map lover too!)
