Big Brother 7 All Stars: Erika Finds Her Loophole

Tonight on Big Brother 7 All Stars, we see Erika and Mike Boogie go head to head for the final Head of Household. Erika won the first round of three and Mike Boogie won the second round. Janelle has lost twice and been eliminated from the competition.

Janelle can only watch the competition play itself out. Janelle can almost certainly beat either Erika or Mike Boogie in front of the jury. In fact, Janelle is likely to win 7-0. But only if she can get in front of the jury!
If Mike wins Head of Household and takes Janelle, he will lose, and he knows it. If Mike wins Head of Household and takes Erika, he has a fair chance of winning, and knows that too. If Mike wins, he will almost certainly take Erika.
If Erika wins Head of Household and take Janelle, she will lose. If she takes Mike Boogie she has a fair chance of winning. If Erika wants to win - and that is the point of the game - she needs to take Mike Boogie.
In short, Janelle is screwed. It comes down to one of the best one-liners to come out of this season. Janelle was talking with Will and Mike Boogie. She believed whatever it was they had to say. We can see her walking away, across the back yard, as we hear Mike Boogie, "Dude you are so going to be played." And you just knew that was true! As a direct result, Marcellas left. Howie left. James left. Come to think of it, Janelle pretty much created the entire jury. What an accomplishment!
Another great line from this season was Danielle saying, "I need to find a loophole." She had promised Howie that he was safe. She couldn't find her loophole, and Howie remained in the house.
Today Erika has her loophole. All she has to do is throw the final competition. She can step down immediately, or she can simply screw up and fail to win. The result is the same. Mike Boogie wins Head of Household!
With Mike as Head of Household, who does he take? Erika! Erika has no choice! She has her loophole, and her way of getting Janelle sent to the jury. Just like Erika really needed to win that final veto, Janelle really needed to win that final Head of Household.
If Erika throws the competition to Boogie, we can close Janelle's final chapter with "Dude you are so going to be played." Chill Town got her to create the jury. Erika got her to remove Will. And, finally, Erika got Boogie to remove Janelle. Dude you are so going to be played.
Fortunately it is not that simple. Erika says she is an emotional player. Logic says to let Boogie invoke the loophole, obviate Erika's promise to Janelle, and take Erika on to the final two. As I said, fortunately it is not that simple!
I like Erika, and I have a high view of Erika. I think there is every possibility that Erika will see the loop hole as exactly that - a loop hole - and, like Danielle, refuse to take advantage of it. She may ask herself, "How will I feel next week and next year?" Would she rather take second, fulfilling her strongest promise she was capable of making? Or is the extra $450,000 worth "scum bagging" Janelle? It is, after all, just a game.
I really don't know which way Erika will choose - but I suspect she'll look at the choice in those terms. What is she willing to do to win.
I personally feel there's a strong chance that Erika will choose to do her best to take Janelle to the Final Two. Sure, I'm biased, and that's arguably an extremely stupid choice. She might be mad enough at Mike to win and take Janelle just for the pleasure of putting Mike on the jury.
That's an awfully expensive pleasure, but I expect she'd have a more enjoyable time of thinking about it in years to come!
Am I kidding myself? Absolutely! Erika would be crazy to take a sure second over a possible first. But emotions don't always follow logic. Tonight should be interesting.
